My sister age is 17 years. Her HBA1C test report is '9'. Average blood sugar level is 210.7mg/dL. Her weight is around 55 kg in normal days but as she is not eating much in last 2 days her weight has decreased.

There is no any diabetes history in my family background.

It was all sudden, when we took her to hospital because she was breathing deep at home. Now she is on insulin infusion and doctors are saying that it will take around 4-5 days to make her sugar level to normal.

Sir, my questions are:-
1. What are the reasons behind this increased sugar level?
2. Will it affect her kidney also in future?
3. Will she has to take regular insulin injection in the future?

I just made this test, and I had 5.3 which is fortunately normal, but I have also 104 in the fasting blood sugar test. My doctor says I should not be worried at all, because the glycated hemoglobin shows how my body reacts to glucose over two or three months, while the fasting blood sugar test is variable. However I'm still worried because everywhere I read that a value over 100 indicated prediabetes, and I don't know what to think.
