Sound advice! I just celebrated 10 years of sobriety and I know my brain is better for it. The 30 mins video games was interesting to me as up until recently I only did short puzzles but whilst I was on holiday I got addicted to a mobile game so I might remove that from my phone or set a timer. At the moment I’m working on my sleep which I’d managed to get good at but hyper activity has been creeping in before bed. I think everything you said is totally achievable but not immediately, it takes time and we have to really want it. For me it took a breakdown and chronic illness, now I never want to go back there!

Sleep is one of the most important things for me. I struggle getting to sleep due to a) i never feel physically tired. Unless im in the intense summer heat all day, or I'm awake for a solid 16 hours or more.
B) i constantly overthink and my mind races when im trying to sleep.

I use cannabis to help me sleep, and melotonin to stay asleep. Alcohol helps me fall asleep, but ruins my quality of sleep. I find a sleepy weed with my 10mg melotonin is perfect.

Ooohhh “disrespect my sleep”…. You just snapped my 4am rear-end in check with that. I just preferred the nights but it really is to avoid sleeping. To state it in the “disrespect” concept really makes me see it differently. Yikes! Cuz it is completely true.

doc im sorry but i was diagnosed at 5 (probably wrong) but i was on meeds from then to highschool, and it sucked, it took a toll on my brain and throughout my life Cannabis use has been the missing link and keeps me focused, locked in, but not overwhelemed or stressed. It has got me off ALL medication in my life

BEST ADVICE FOR KIDS WITH A.D.D. (NO MEDS): cut out all food coloring, like red # 40 blue # 1 anything that has a color and a number with it. Check EVERY LABEL, you'd be surprised what has food coloring in it...... If you can actually do this for at least a 24-hour period you will see a night and a difference! I got this advice from a woman at my mom's church and it was a tremendous help! You have to do it 100% though any food coloring will affect them. It's in food coloring as a treat on the weekends so they don't miss out on fun treats.

I do need a proper assessment, although i feel adderall works not perfectly but at least feels i can keep relatively more focused. I may need a different doctor willing to try different medications and doses to see what’s better for me.

As a woman, I've learned I have PCOS and PMDD which means not drinking on my PMS week stops me from getting a severe depression dip. It seems small but it had a huge impact. This in turn also helped my ADHD.

From My Experience:

1) I don't think it should be legal to give or prescribe psychotics of any kind to minors.

2) Nothing wrong with Drinking on rare occasions (The Most I have drank in one Year was 8 times).

3) Video Games are More beneficial and less harmful than Stimulants for People with ADHD.

Yeah I disagree with some of this. I’ve been a functioning human being with ADHD my entire life, and I can tell you that if I didn’t follow the specific protocol that I have found works for me, some of which you say don’t do, then I would be hooked on some sort of medication and have panic attacks every day. Everyone has to decide for themselves what works for them. Don’t just take everyone’s advice.

These five things are indeed the very principle I always has been trying to so hard keep up with. I understand some people are triggered with his tone, but I do believe it's coming from the bottom of his heart and he is truly concerned about our wellbeing. We do need a good coping mechanism even when taking medications, but the coping mechanisms he mentioned in the video are what can aggravate ADHD symptoms fundamentally. It's difficult to see that when we are in the middle of a mess. Keep walking on the right side, and we will get there one day. I hope you all find your own piece sooner than you ever imagined.

No, you need a dr to look at the whole body not the brain. So many underlying causes of symptoms which are not considered in conventional medicine because they are literally trained to prescribe.

Here in the UK, it could take many years to go through the process of being diagnosed with ADHD. For an adult, nearly impossible. I could only imagine the look on the face of a GP if you asked for a brain scan.

Throughout life I have struggled and reached out many times for help and support regarding my mental health with them knowing I have ADHD.

They have only attacked my weakness and punished me for it, that in itself is not fair. This only effects my Son.

I am trying, just because it's not currently diagnosed does not mean it don't exist. You know I'm struggling so why attack my weakness!! Ask for help they say, it's all I ever have done.

The amount of psychologists, mental health teams, Dr's and even Psychiatrist I have spoken to throughout life that have picked up on this (ADHD) have never took there time to support me with it knowing I'm unable to recognise this behaviour until right now. I am now sat thinking deeply and this is where I am at my best because thinking is more clear. I am now 36 and still have no diagnosis 🤯 yet it's really clear isn't it, I even see it myself now I deeply question it.

I have always said I'm 36, it's never effected me and I've learnt to control it throughout life BUT, the sad reality is, it is controlling my life and I do struggle regardless of my motivation to keep fighting. Even physically it's now effected my physical health having upper Respiratory inflammation from stress and anxiety. ITS BECAUSE ITS A BLOODY SYMPTOM OF MY ADHA THAT YOU KNEW ALL ALONG DUE TO MY BEHAVIOUR AND SYMPTOMS.

It's only now that i have kids I've took the time to think more deeply and only then realise how much I've been taken advantage of by the system my whole life. 💔

Only when someone takes there life there is then a up-roar.

All the pain and suffering I have caused others all could have been avoided if I was heard and helped. All the out of character experiences due to the overwhelming thoughts and impulse that I've lived with all my life yet YOU WAS IGNORANT TO MY WEEKNESS.

Listen when we speak. We are only human. Stop asking people to do things they have told you they can't do, that's attacking their weakness giving them an impossible goal, abuse/control.

I've been chasing this help for my son too knowing he has it but the help has been ignored and instead the authority take advantage of it punishing you for what your unaware of!!!

FINALLY We are now getting the help we need and it's sad, because now I see the real truth of this cruel world. They attack the vulnerable, only when the vulnerable find someone who does have a clear mind who question the authority, they then decide to help and address the cause of that person's illness who has gone through life getting in relationships with people that's on there level.

They was close to doing the same to my son, being ignorant to him having clear ADHD and lying to me saying they had him on the BBE something like that 🤔 now I'm with someone who knows what they talking about I can see i have been taken advantage of 💔 Now that is the real abuse.

We have ADHD 🤯

I AM CURRENTLY AWAKE 👀 (Thinking clear)

This comments are crazy, yall would say anything to defend your lazyness and victim mindset. God gave people free will. People in this generation denying that they have free will... You can do this things, you are able to. Yes with adhd it might be less enjoyable and harder but yet you can. People love to be victims... You can control your body. ADHD is not schizophrenia or physical disability. You HAVE free will. But taking responsibility for your own actions and being conscious requires making such a decision.

"Never play excessive video games [...] for more than half an hour." That sounds weird to a gamer, like saying "never watch excessive movies for more than half an hour". I mean, he's probably right, and that's good advice for people with ADHD, but it does sound like something a person who has never touched a controller in their lifes would say.
