History of Japan In this video, we will introduce the life of Kato Kiyomasa, a Japanese samurai and daimyo who lived in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. He was one of the most loyal and brave generals of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the unifier of Japan. He fought in many battles, such as Shizugatake, Komaki and Nagakute, Kyushu, Korea and Sekigahara. He was also a master of castle construction and built the magnificent Kumamoto Castle. He was known as the Tiger of Higo and one of the Seven Spears of Shizugatake
