Why aren’t they using flite control with the shorty shells?
ОтветитьIDK if anyone else noticed, but the tape measure is showing tenths of feet, not inches in the beginning. I'm okay with that since I'm used to this kind of division, but he should made it very clear to the viewer. Later in the video he shows tenths of feet, then flips the tape around to feet and inches. Except for that, great content.
Ответитьlove me some shorty shells
Ответитьhow do you tell someone youre getting paid by federal without telling someone they pay you? bash the OG in minislugs.
you want standard penetration use standard 2 3/4" rounds. minislugs are 3/4 normal powder charge of course they arent going to go as deep. but the kid in the other room is alive and baddie isnt. you need to get rid of your mini scope and put a laser on that like youre supposed too.

What is a minimum penetration requirement? Why is it a thing?
ОтветитьSub-optimal for defense? Really? Would you stand in front of the muzzle? There's your answer.
ОтветитьCome with a choke?
How about a slug?
Thank you! Excellent video!
Ответитьhi, love love love your video great information really thanks for sharing
ОтветитьIf you wanna tight group it depends what choke tube you’re using. You can test all you want the footage you want your patterns are going to very if you wanna tight group it’s what choke tube.⁉️
ОтветитьTo me you all you’re doing is just pattern The Gun to see what it does🧐
ОтветитьIf you are testing a "home defense" load at 25 yards, you either:
1) Have NO idea what you're doing.
2) Are wildly biased AGAINST short, home defense ammunition by asking waaay too much of it. or
3) You have a HUGE house to defend and should be using 3 1/2 inch magnum loads to keep your pattern tight enough in the shot sleeve, longer, to reach the other end of the house.
If you're "blown away" by their performance, you're holding the gun BACKWARDS!!!
ОтветитьI would have taken a marker and circled the first load. It is much better to follow and for the presentation.
ОтветитьOuch
ОтветитьRunning them in a maverick 88 security with mini adaptor and houge grip. Very glad i decided to go with the 4 buck federal minis. Especially after watching this test
ОтветитьThis dude looks like Nate from Canadian Prepper.
ОтветитьI know I've watched this video over a dozen times. It applies directly to me. I live in a 1k square foot house. The Maximum distance I could be shooting is about 5yds. I also believe that a shotgun is the superior defense weapon within its effective range. There is about 50'-75' between my house and my neighbors' houses. So overpenetration is a concern. I think the Federal shorty 15 pellet #4 buckshot is perfect for me. Especially when you consider only headshots. One shot stop. The extra ammo capacity is a bonus.
I just wonder if a vang comp barrel is worth it. At less than 5 yards has the shot even left the shot cup?
Get a windsock buddy 🤗
ОтветитьBEST Ever Shockwave video with shorties for home defense on the internet!!!!
ОтветитьI have a Mossberg 88 Security with 20 inch barrel and 8 shot capacity and 13 with the Federal Shorties And the defendertactical adapter that allows the Shotgun to function with the mini shells and 2 3/4 and the 3 inch shells Simultaneously and the Hogue Tamer grip.
I am Curious whether it can be shot in a Similiar Manner as you shoot the Schockwave ?
If so how about a demo ?
Thank you much
You don't necessarily need to use 00 buck for indoor self-defense. The one thing you don't want indoors is over-penetration. That's why I prefer the #4 buck mini shells that Federal and Aguila have offered for years. If I did use 00 buck, then these split pellet shells would actually be better. Trust me, even 5.5" of penetration with 00 buck will put someone down at indoor distances of under 20 feet.
ОтветитьFor my home needs, that’s the exact #4 pattern performance I want (smaller rooms, no kids in other rooms).
Depending on situation, I think some put too much emphasis on super tight patterns. Yes, at work, I want my Federal 12 gauge 00Buck w/ FlightControl wad.
Again, very situation dependent.
TY for the great content!
Aguila
Ответить10-12 pellet #1 copper plated that stayed together well would be perfect imho.
Ответитьjust purchased The recoil strap! let's go!
ОтветитьWhy do people keep comparing shotguns to a 40 yr old FBI standard meant for Shit pistol bullets of the time? You catch that to the chest, you're done, period.
Ответить12 inches in gel is a handgun standard. I think if you're pushing out 2 magazines worth of projectiles from a 2 3/4 #4 buck shell, that's going to be adequate.
ОтветитьSir, you are using a 100' clothe tape in engineers scale. The minimum depth is 0.55' not 5.5". It is pronounced fifty five hundreds of a foot. I am a land surveyor that's why I noticed. 0.55' equals 6 and 5/8's inches. Not 5 and 1/2 inch. You can tell because your tapes foot increments only go up to 0.9' not 11inches. Fun fact of truth.
Ответить5 yards is "Home Defense" range, unless you live in a Mansion.
ОтветитьHonestly I think the mini shells is where the shockwave really excels. Especially for inside the house distance.
ОтветитьJust bought the 20" 590a1 Retrograde and instantly ordered the Opsol 2.0 to shoot mini shells or slugs. Next purchase is either a Magpul or Hogue buttstock for shorter LOP.
ОтветитьIs your brother Canadian diy preper? Good video thanks
ОтветитьI had a shockwave, now I have a full stock 590S with ghost rings and an Accu choke system. Far more versatility. If I need short and maneuvering in #4 buck I'll grab the S&W Governor
ОтветитьYou need a windshield for your mic bad…
Ответитьyou can afford a windscreen, dude
ОтветитьGreat info. Thank you for doing the closer distance. Farthest distance in my home is about 20 feet so that helps!
ОтветитьThank you for the content, much appreciated. Love the shotgun content, especially. 🤙
ОтветитьNice gun.
Ответить25 yards? Thats pretty good for any shot shell.
ОтветитьDebating penetration matters when you’re shooting Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees. When 1/4” +/- steel hits you @ 1200fps you will lose interest in your bad behavior.
Let’s make it real: a 90 mph fast ball travels at 132 fps.
With no penetration at all.
Multiply that by 9 + steel + penetration = loss of interest.
My 2 cents.
The Spokane iron goat! Where in Spokane did you find that nice range?
ОтветитьI bought the 590 and love that I can load 13+1 of the shorties. Can't wait to take it out now that the snow has vanished.
ОтветитьIndoors you won’t have all the wind
ОтветитьNo diss intended to the videomaker. Tiny 12 guage shotshells aren't very impressive.
ОтветитьDon't you love how the wind just never stops blowing out there?
ОтветитьI bought a Mossberg Maverick 88 Cruiser with the 20-inch barrel and installed an OPSol adapter so that it will cycle only shorty shells. It cycles flawlessly, and this video is telling me what I want to hear: Outstanding home defense weapon. I can load 12 shorty shells in the tube and won't have to worry about felt recoil since it does not have a shoulder stock and only a pistol grip. I intend to load up on shorty shells for target shooting and home defense.
ОтветитьThats a 10ths rule not inches.
