Just wanted to quickly add that the video is demonstrating these focal lengths on FULL FRAME cameras. If you're using a crop sensor (aps-c) then times the focal length by x1.5 and for micro four thirds x2 to get an idea of what the lens will look like on your camera. So for example for aps-c a 24 will look more like the 35 shots in this video and the 50 more like the 85 etc etc.
ОтветитьI used a 35mm on a girl that has a slim face and in the photos she looks kind of chubby looking. I was about 4 feet away. Why would this be.?
ОтветитьGread vid. Again! Subscribed!
ОтветитьTLDW: All of them.
ОтветитьMost lenses can get you similar looking images the question is how far are you willing to move
ОтветитьThe killer combo of lenses are the 28-70mm f2 lens and the 85mm f1.2 lens when you really want to hit that portrait pic that pops and the 28-70 isn’t hitting the spot.
90% of the time, the 28-70 f2 will do the d job.
Thank you so much great video :)
ОтветитьI shot with many primes including 21mm, 24mm, 28mm, 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm, 85mm, 90mm, and 100mm on full frame cameras. My all time favorite 2 focal lengths are the 28mm and the 50mm. Thank you for this great video.
ОтветитьOnly need a 28 and 85 🤣 just a joke those are my goto i also have tons lenses
ОтветитьI like Canon 85mm f1.8 as the images have least distortion and it is very pleasing to see the images. The lens also captures a lot of light. Also it did not burn my pocket.
ОтветитьThank you)))
ОтветитьCan you recomend a good lens for a nikon for closups. I wanna take closeup shots of objects
Ответить30mm & 50mm
ОтветитьFull frame or cropped ??
ОтветитьI also own prime lenses, but then it gets annoying carrying all of them!
ОтветитьSo if what i primarry need is take photo of people in front of background like mountain, lake, sea statue, what i need is either 35mm or 50mm
ОтветитьIf you had to chose 1, I guess 24mm is the best because it is wide enough for landscape and crammed room , at the same time you can zoom in with your legs and take beautiful portraits. 35 & 55mm are not that suitable for landscape, street, room and can feel crammed in narrow space, only good for portraits. Also 24mm is the most lightweight of these and can take anywhere without much hassle
ОтветитьI love my Nikon 70-300! Use it all the time. Yes, paparazzi. Events, gatherings, yes portraits and sports. I am after candid and get wonderful images with lots of bokeh separation with aperture priority set to wide open.
ОтветитьHey Mitch, this is Jonathan. Just wanted to reach out and ask you what are some weather durable lenses that would be helpful for my canon EOS R50. I’m thinking about the 50 mm F1.2.
ОтветитьMitch , if you’re still monitoring this video… Q: is an adjustable lens , eg 18-55 which includes all the various focal lengths you mentioned as good as having the separate prime lenses?
Thanks in advance
thanks for your wisdom!!
ОтветитьMy suggestion from self experience: for videography get 35 mm and for photography use 85 mm.
ОтветитьI have mainly shot with what works and therefore over used zooms. To move beyond that I happened to find your video, glad I did, Thanks!
ОтветитьDidyou shoot on apsc
Ответитьvery to the point with good examples that are well compared. Thank you sir, you have my sub cheers.
Ответить35mm 50mm 85mm
Ответить35-40mm for street and landscape. I love it because this focal length is nearest of what we see with my own eyes.
ОтветитьI have nifty fifty, now what to go for next, 24mm, 28mm or 35mm, can't decide so difficult, they all have their pros and cons!
Ответитьwhat are your thoughts on 30 and 40mm?. I am trying to pick between 30, 35 and 40mm to go along side my a6000 kit lens. It will be for travel, so landscapes, streets, portents in mind. Plus I would bring it with me on hikes
Ответитьwhat lens can i use for close up photos so from like a foot away without getting blur i tried macro but it blurs stuff that's even an inch further then the front object, i need close up but also no blur
Ответить50mm looks natural and eye pleasure ❤️
ОтветитьWallah bro your photos are INSANEEEEEEEE. That first shot got me following you on IG instantly. Props man
Ответить24-70mm zoom lens, since when you're on the run and the subject is not the most patient, this lets me "switch the lens" quickly.
Ответить50mm f 1.2 , 85mm f 1.2 , ( 24 - 105 f2.8 or 70 - 200 ) can anyone suggest a better combination 😢 ( main goal versatility and low light pic )
Ответитьseems you forgot the aperture which make big difference in background ..I have Sony A7R 42mp dslr with 24-70mm Zeiss lens, good for all purposes....
ОтветитьI have 50mm, what should I add? 25 or 35? Best!
ОтветитьAll of them... Eventually
Ответитьgreat content Mitch, keep it up!
ОтветитьI have a 50mm 1.4 and an 8mm 3.5. Looking for a 35mm
ОтветитьYour friend Kat is super hot
ОтветитьIn order to properly evaluate depth of field it is essential for the model to be wearing a bikini. This is well known in photography circles.
ОтветитьI own a dollop , but due to working in mountainous regions forced me down the zoom lens , and 70mm is close to human perception , its no accident theres a 70 at either end of most popular zooms ,
ОтветитьCan't resist. I like the combo of 50 and 24, both of which are pretty affordable, because the 24 is great for vlogging and small studios where the camera can't be 10 feet back from the subject, and the 50 is there for a-roll when you really need that "like butter" shallow DOF.
Ответить85mm definitely....
ОтветитьJust asking to learn. What’s the benefit of using a prime lense vs using the same focal length on a Zoom lense? Forgive me if I’m using the wrong terms
ОтветитьI'm not so sure the thumbnail is accurate. I believe each photo in the thumbnail is the same field of view (same lens), just different depths of field.
