2days? Actually kinda cute. Back when i was on xbox live between '13 n '17, in the very rare case of getting a ban for swearing, they kicked u out for 2weeks n weren't even nice enough to provide evidence so u had no idea what u said so wrong n could easily repeat that. Luckily players were overall less fragile back then n such crap almost never happened.

"People got soft" is the phrase Fox News propagates when the working class wants a livable wage and the powers that be don't want to give them one. Its such a shorthand political phrase for this nostalgia of the status quo regardless of how damaging the status quo in question is to less fortunate. Its also a "don't ask questions and move along" type phrase used on people who ask too many questions and are "complaining too much." Like "back in my day we let big pharma walk all over us and didn't complain and speak out like these soft people today."

I hear "People are soft today" and I think more and more of well-meaning people willingly suppressing their natural emotions to overcompensate for this facade of toughness because society continually tells them they're too soft. I think about the mental instability that comes with always pretending to be tough and never succumbing to "soft" emotions like sadness or fear and the toll that slowly takes on a person mentally. And then all the mass shootings that have plagued this country in recent years all of a sudden make alot more sense. This is what I think that machismo propaganda bullshit of "people got soft" earns a country on a long enough timeline. Baked-in mental illness and a lethal desire to prove others wrong at any cost.

All this to say that I think that phrase comes with alot of baggage I'd like to think the hosts didn't intend. Although maybe I'm just soft for thinking of others and complaining. I should just get back to pounding beers and ignoring the aspects of myself that make me human.
