It is said that Saint Tyagaraja used to sing this keertana along with other devotees of Hari in the morning in the streets of Tiruvayyaru. It reveals the joy and fervor with which devotional songs were rendered.
Oh compassionate lord, the pleasant scene of devotees of Srihari starting out to sing is joyful.
Chanting the name of Srihari, Govinda, Narahari, Rama and Krishna in rhythm and love, the Haridasas started.
Accompanied by reverberating sound of 'mrudangam' overwhelmed in joy, the devotees of Hari started.
Feeling elated in their hearts that they are blessed by Hari and praising that Hari's name is their sole refuge, they started. Tieing a towel around their waist, stepping rhythmically to the jingling beat of cymbals, they started. Singing songs wisely, keeping Rama always in their minds, surrendering totally, the Haridasas started. Showering jasmine flowers on the king of kings Rama, in all splendour the Haridasas started with the Lord of Tyagaraja.
