A Cyberdemon receiving Slow+ damage would be incredibly rare right? The only scenario I can think of is that a flying enemy (or the player maybe?) could get partially trapped under the crusher when they are on a ledge that is placed above the Cyberdemon.
Walking enemies wouldn't be able to get trapped because they turn around when they reach the edge of a ledge, unless some funky stuff with lifts happens and they get stuck
Edit: just realised what I initially had in mind wasn't right. The ledge needs to be lower than the Cyberdemons Z-value, and the flying enemy needs to be higher than the Cyberdemon. Otherwise the crusher will resume at its normal speed once the crushed enemy is dead before crushing the Cyberdemon
Nah the crushers in Quake are alot worse.

ОтветитьPoor baron...
ОтветитьFun Fact: Due to a bug in vanilla Doom (uninitialized values in floor properties), Stair Builders are also overwhelmingly likely to be floor crushers! It happens with a high enough probability that PrBoom and even Chocolate Doom explicitly initialize stair builders to always be crushers. They differ from regular floor raise crushers in that they stop moving entirely until the blocking object is crushed to death rather than slowly moving up. The object being crushed is also not trapped in place and is free to walk around.
ОтветитьThank you for giving the Fandom wiki what it deserves
Edit: You are REALLY fast with these, damn!

ОтветитьHa.

ОтветитьPISS SCREEN DETECTED
ОтветитьI like how to barrel bleeds and can be gibbed.
ОтветитьQuestion about the floor-to-ceiling crushers...
What accounts for the ones that rise but don't deal any crusher damage to you but will simply stop it's ascent when your head hits the ceiling (see: the escape-blocking wall before the invisible bridge section of Plutonia's "Well of Souls.")
Ah yes, time to watch an in depth guide about a game's mechanic that I have never played. I'm not sure why I'm here but I'm here for it.
ОтветитьWhy does the explosive barrel BLEED?!
ОтветитьSorry John we’re doing this for science decino
ОтветитьI never seen that crusher in E4M3, and I've went into that room thousands of times over the years.
ОтветитьHave i ever wondered about how the crushers work in Doom? No. But this is a realy interesting topic and you have a really nice voice, so into the sleep playlist this goes!
ОтветитьI really appreciate that I now know how quickly Commander Keen can be crushed.
ОтветитьCan’t believe classic doom videos are getting 100’s of thousands of views 32 years later
ОтветитьCan anyone give me a quick rundown / link to the explanation of why there is beef between the two Doom Wikis? I don't have the context
Edit: nvm
Crushing floors are kind underutilized I think, they just need to be made more damaging. I also wish that there were "upside down" crushers in Boom and MBF21, like they're going up and down from the floor, rather from the ceiling.
Or hell, double crushers, where the floor and ceilings meet halfway.
You can make gates with these. Or perhaps even labyrinths.
ОтветитьLast time I used a fandom wiki over the official one, it lied.
ОтветитьBreezewiki my beloved
Ответить666k views 😅.
Ответить666k views pretty nice given this channel is about doom
Ответить666k views? How fitting
ОтветитьWhat happens if you place a baron inside a sector too small to fit it with a crusher that has a ceiling less than 8 units above the floor
ОтветитьWow - I don't even remember for sure if I've ever been "softlocked" by floor crusher - but it seems like something that I would simply have to have experienced at one time or another, with all the 3rd party wads and all... Oh well, maybe I still remembered this in the 90s and early naughts, but then just too much time went by... And I must get back into mapping again, it was so interesting - plus I yearn to see what one can do with modern source ports :)
ОтветитьThere's a character in Street Fighter 5 named Rashid whose theme says "RAH-SHI-DOOOOOOOO". I choose to believe that subconsciously, seeing a Decino thumbnail makes people hear "DE-SEE-NOOOOOOOOOOOO!".
ОтветитьI don't think it's a soft lock if you stop and wait for a moving object to lock into place with you stuck in it
ОтветитьIs fandom gay?
ОтветитьSoftlock.
*rapid shit taking*
They are cool
ОтветитьDemon go crush
ОтветитьThe fandom wiki looks better though.
ОтветитьBrown noise 😂
