ОтветитьI'm from NorCal and I do think you were biased for the most part. I live in the mountains and it's Beautiful here. I do think Yosemite and the Redwoods National Parks are actually a very big draw here. And it also snows here. And like you, I also need to broaden my view of all of California.🥰
ОтветитьWelll first of all youbsaid Paso Robles wrong. So are you realllly a california guy
ОтветитьGreat presentation, well spoken, thanks
ОтветитьIived in San Clemente for 32 Yrs ...Great Climate..best in country on average..Been In Chico now for 12 yrs ....very hot during summer....what people want out of California is Subjective and Personal...we have seasons up here which is familiar to most of the country but with a beach ....Pace is Different like Night and Day .... Farm Life (North of Sacramento) not the rat race hustle that even Sacramento has....Id Vote Nor Cal...I miss San Clemente...but the density of people and cost of living is ridiculous
ОтветитьIf I had to live near the coast in California (north or south), I’d pick Southern California (specifically near San Diego or just south of Santa Barbara). If I had to live inland in California (north or south), I’d pick Northern California (Specifically the Santa Cruz mountains, or inland on the outskirts of the Santa Rosa metro area)
From a climate comfort perspective the coast is more desirable in both the north and south, but in the south it gets awful heading inland faster than the north. However, the cost of living is predominantly much cheaper inland both in the north and the south.
And as a resident of the central coast of California I feel I’m pretty impartial. I think the central coast is the best overall unless you really need a big job market and/or lots of nightlife and professional sports or big theme park options nearby. The central coast is a loser in those regards compared to the more populous parts of the state.
That said, once you own a home on the central coast, you’ll have a hard time finding a more desirable location to remain long term if you can make it work financially. The traffic isn’t bad and the weather outside is probably better than Northern California or Southern California. Although the ocean temperature is certainly better in the south.
Live in Sacramento. We are more of a melting pot here. Is expensive. Not as cool as the coast as we are 90 miles inland. Bbut being the capital city, politics are heavy here. The best things about living here though, is 2 riviers with tons of trails. Being "centrally located", in 2 hours I can be in Frisco and play in the ocean or drive to Tahoe (referred to as Going up the hill). Depending on the time of year, I can go play in the snow in high country and body surfing on the beach in the same day. Or just go to wine country along the way.
Wine is very popular here and we have many vineyards besides Napa county here. Along with all the micro breweries, its a connoisseur's delight here.
There is plenty of Big city and Small town vibes throughout the valley and coast in NorCal.
Our summers in Sac get up to 115🥵
