I got my cosmetology license in high school. I didn’t know that you could stay in the dorms while you’re in it! I absolutely love that because then you still get that college experience 💕 I love that Michigan has so many amazing options.

I went to an Academy 40 hours a week 9 months.

Woah, in Australia my apprenticeship for doing only hair was 5 years, I was a tad slow in classes but showed my skill to my educators, I worked in salon 4 days a week 8 hours each day and went to school for hair once a week for 6 hours.
I payed for almost all of my school which cost about $15,000 because my boss wouldn’t pay for it even though by law she should have.

My educators were amazing. I will always be thankful for them.

My boss however was horrible. She never gave any thanks for my hard work. She put me down and treated me like trash.

Soon after she sent me a letter telling me I was no longer needed her salon closed. I’ve head since then that other staff and clients didn’t know I was let go.

The staff and clients missed me and have reached out since. I wish I could be with them all, but my love for doing hair in salon was destroyed because of one horrible boss.

When I was in beauty school at 18 going back now 11 yrs we NEVER had to pay for salon services done on us & we NEVER had to pay for any of the products including color used on us. We all practiced on eachother & I graduated in 13 months.
