I think the criticisms you gave of Aizen's forms are kind of the point- I've always viewed the hogyouku transformations as reflecting what Aizen wants, what he thinks he is and what he thinks he's doing, going through an evolution that would leave him as the pinnacle of what he's capable of- but when he begins having trouble, his true colors show, the insane, feral monster he really is being brought to the forefront, tearing through his disguise

Never notice one thing about Kensei and Yoruichi powered up forms and what they got in common:
Kensei looks like Fujin, the Japanese wind god in Bankai, but Yoruichi looks like Raijin, the Japanese lightning god, in her ultimate form.
They're both melee fighters, with one being all serious (Kensei, who's like violent, strong winds with he's personality) and the other very happy and playful (Yoruichi, who's bright, energetic and fierce with her personality).

surprised yami and nnoitra resurrections don't make it, the big dinosaur one was ok it was at least creative if ineffective but his second stage is jest a dragon ball reference and nothing more and santa teresa docent do much either, adds some extra arms witch mantises don't even have as far as i know and adds extra weapons that again dident amount to much at least his beyond resurrection fixes a lot of the designs problems. do agree though harribels resurrection was rather pore but they do fix it some what in her beyond resurrection designee by giving her a tail and some fins but i would have included a shark jaw inspired shield that lets her eat incoming attacks or jest lets her attack as well but that's jest me.

Regarding broken bankais, i kind of wish there was a scale rather than all or nothing either its fully functional or its irreparably broken. Like maybe as long as a central part of the bankai remains in one piece it can heal, it could reframe madarames fight as him once again playing a dangerous game in order to win but now hes not callously breaking his zanpakuto beyond repair

Not sure about Yoruichi's entry when she can fully turn into a cat. I mean, she just used her martial arts while going by wild instincts.

100% disagree with haribels take. In the fight shes clearly all attack and speed. Also i believe it's a combination of a swimsuit and the fact sharks don't fossilized well except for the teeth, spine and scales

What about Aizen's last form before he was sealed? the form that he started taking after getting hit by Mugetsu, the form where his zanpakuto started disappearing before his face broke revealing another face underneath? As he did have a white face that had a blank eye and white eye with purple scelera and unusual teeth on one side like Grimjow and That one Arrancar from the Wii game shattered blade, Arturo.
This face then shattered to show a natural skin tone Aizen with just the one altered eye, the white eye with purple scelera.
These two could still technically count as part of Hyogyoku Aizen forms.

Tenken Tachikaze slander will not be tolerated 😂. Genuinely one of my favourite bankai in the ENTIRE series. Doesn't do a lot, isn't that powerful, but sounds cool, looks cool and unlike most bankai there's no element of grace or art to it... just let's you punch the f*** out of whatevers in your way. And say what you want about the transformation it at least gives him a transformation unlike most Bankai

I'm going to be honest, while the tybw anime has improved on many designs and aspects shown in the manga, I hate how Yhwach looks in the anime, it looks less like flowing energy and more like he's a slime. I feel like it should've kept with the effect from the manga as if it was still a manga page drowned in ink, and the dark substance was outpouring more rather than pooling on the floor.

ggio vega's resurrection is one of my least favorite bleach transformations. from an agile brawler with the blade attached to his hair to just a big furry creature? i hated it, especially considering how cool ggio's base form was.

Zommari's transformation is supposed to be jarring, he's a massive Aizen simp hiding behind a mask of control. His Resurrecion reveals his vanity and garish side that he represses in base

Bazz-B is supposed to have a weak Vollstandig, he was leeching off of Haschwalth.

I think an underhated transformation is Ginjo's after stealing Ichigo's Fullbring.

It looks like it's trying way too hard to look edgy. Like a fan-design rather than one of Kubos.

Like, I see a ton of fan OCs for Bleach that go way too hard into the "bone" motif for Hollows, when it's supposed to be a subtle thing. Reminds me of designs from the Hell movie, none of which look at all like a Kubo design to me.

But to be fair, the Shikai is tolerable. Just kind of mediocre. The Bankai takes the try-hard and jacks it up to 11. The sword looks like some mall-ninja design that really wants to look super edgy and cool and absolutely fails on all accounts.

Maybe it's because I'm an anime only boi, but I've never had a problem with Butterflaizen. I didn't even register the butterfly/moth shape at first, thought it was a standard final boss angel form (and I'm guessing that's what Kubo intended anyhow). The inhuman-yet-non-hollow aspects of it really work.

I think the only Aizen form I don't really like is when he's just assembling the cocoon and there's white matter growing over half his face (around when Kisuke pulls the trick with the seals). That one just looks messy. As soon as he's full hollow cocoon I'm immediately sold again.

True Bankai Ichigo is more the more dissapointing. Aizen butterfly is bad, and zommary and pepe are the worst looking.

I think what could make Bazz-B's Volletandig better is as he fights and gets more serious, he gets more bars as his wings until he gets a full 5 "fingers".

I agree with the Butterflaizen form, I get the thought behind it but he just looks so stiff and awkward when fighting Ichigo. Was super disappointing seeing it for the first time

I guess I'm one of the few who legitimately really likes Tekken Tachikaze's design. I'm a sucker for clean, simplistic, stripped back looks. I think the ability to create something completely visually distinct while maintaining a lot of restraint is a very impressive skill. I think of gaming in this way: it's not that hard to create a game system that's wildly complex with tons of moving parts, but it is pretty difficult to make one that is very simple with a lot of depth. That's why Ichigo's Fullbring bankai is my favourite design of the series. It's got just enough to make it visually distinct from everything else including his previous bankai, without going overboard in a confusing or ridiculous manner. Perfect simplicity at its finest.

I hope Yoruichi's transformation in the anime follows a similar line to Kashimo's MBA from Jujutsu in which electricity is not part of him, he IS the energy.

I must say, I think Pepe's wings are actually one of the best, which people don't mention, so the design might be overhated, but your reasoning for including it on this list makes sense.

I totally get the idea Kubo, in my opinion, was going for with Zommari's Brujeria - and I disagree with others saying he was suppose to be stationary, or slow, especially since he did use sonido - instead of growing more legs, or bigger legs or whatever, he loses them entirely as his body doesn't even need to touch the ground to travel. This should mean he can move without restriction, reflected in how skilled his movements are in his un-released form.

However, it's does not come off right, as the design makes it feel heavy (looks heavy, but is not presented as a clear trade off), especially at the bottom, and how super weird it is that he barely moves from the same spot. Probably two reasons for not moving, but neither help, one, the ability makes him feel in control from a distance, so a cockiness aspect, and honestly him blitzing Byakuya, with eyes hitting him from all sides, might be overpowered. (And if you theorize that he needs to stay still to use his power, then that's still kind of stupl.d to write.) Plus once Byakuya surrounded him, he had nowhere to go, but regardless they could have just showed him moving before he got caught.

Also the skull studded, collar-brace was my favorite part too, so I appreciated that you mentioned it; the spiked necklace is really cool and it's transformed version is cool as well. Although it probably didn't need to go all the way up the back of his head, another thing that just makes him look unable to move dynamically. Thus more boring.
