Joe fucked up by not pairing Harry and hermione in the original books. I’m a grown woman now but when I look back at the story I still feel that there’s no way a girl like Hermione would fall for a guy like Ron. They have nothing in common and there’s no explanation for their attraction to each other.

How id fix the CC

Include James and Lily! Have compelling sibling relationships between them, James, Albus, Lily, Rose and Scorpius should be fore front and centre.

Have Albus be quite dark, have him be determined to not be like his father or his brother, have James Sirius take the younger Scorpius under his wing.

New villian, an old witch who is ancient like you said, nothing to do with Voldemort, plot twist, she’s a muggleborn, flip the stakes over, show muggleborns as being as bigoted as purebloods

Conflict amongst the OG, Draco convinces the wizarding world that only he can save the wizarding world from the muggleborn witch, and says Hermione being a muggleborn herself is reluctant to deal with this issue

This is...different. Better? Not exactly. The affair thing isn't an improvement. Harry constantly talking about his adventures while sending Albus off? Not an improvement of the story. This is better at creating tension within its own confines, sure, but it's not any more true to the characters than CC as far as I can tell.

This has to be a troll video....right? There's no way this is better.
1)Harry and hermione would never have an affair, albus wouldn't make up with harry he would hate his father more when he finds out he cheated on his mother
2) harry would never talk about his accomplishments to his son, he was uncomfortable even when others talked about them order of the phoenix
3) in this version draco is no different than his father

I keep coming back to this video. When I first saw it when I was 15, I really loved it and I loved the affair angle because that's exactly what I thought was happening with the toffee scene. And then when I was about 17 or 18, I came back and saw all the backlash from fans who thought it was out of character and Harry would never do that, and I agreed. But now that I'm a bit more mature, I think that's bullshit. Like, I love these stories so much, but when it comes to a story like this, if you don't give the original character some real agency and drama and character conflict and development it does end up feeling like fanfiction that treats its characters like infallible beacons of what they used to be instead of what they are now. So what if Harry wouldn't do that when he was 17? He's 36. I'm 22 and I'm a completely different person from who I was when I was 17. Harry falling from grace a bit with age, and becoming more fallable, able to make mistakes (as long as he learns from those mistakes) is just good drama, especially in a story about how his son thinks his father is this perfect flawless symbol of greatness that has never made a mistake in his life. The "fans" on here who got mad at that are just showing why people who don't like the Harry Potter books think they're childish and lack real drama or stakes. The original books are for children, but each book becomes a tiny bit more mature as the characters do. This story is after a 19-year jump. That's 19 years of maturing. Let the story mature with them. I love the idea of Harry and Hermione going through a bit of a mid-life crisis and making a mistake. And that grows into a bigger mistake. Of course we don't want them to do it, because it's an awful thing to do, and that's why it's interesting. How are they gonna solve this? Are they gonna solve this? How will Ron and Ginny take it? How will they move past it and become stronger? Is it a little overboard when we already have Harry kill someone? Maybe. But we need a little extra waves to shake the boat. It's also kind of a funny way to go "You who wanted Harry and Hermione to end up together. This is what you wanted, right? You wanted this."

Ron has to be the one to save them all, just like he did when he came back in the Deathly Hallows, saved Harry seconds from drowning at the hand of the locket, overcame the taunts by the locket which filled his mind with a perceived romance between Harry and Hermione, and destroyed the locket instead of giving in. Plus he is the 3rd of the trio. They are only invincible when they have each other.

And if the affair in your version turned out to only be a temptation (which we would only find out at the end) but they were caught in an embrace by Rita Skeeter who uses her poison pen to ruin Hermione’s career, to get back at Hermione for ruining her career at the end of The Goblet of Fire, and Ron believes what appears to be the truth, rather than the fact that the two of them love Ron to much to ever hurt him like that, then once again the storyline from their past and their future comes full circle when he decides to return and save them.

Thinking back on The Cursed Child now... it was total trash, in my opinion. At the time, I got swept up in the hype, but it’s nothing more than a money grab—pass-the-torch-to-the-nepo-gen, nihilistic, disrespectful fanfic nonsense. My biggest fix for this story would be to scrap it entirely and replace it with a younger Harry, maybe 20-25, working as an Auror and navigating his life as he grows into a powerful Auror and a dad. Maybe it could even be a TV series. They could still incorporate the school into the main mystery.

Delphi shouldnt be a hundred years old or be more powerful than voldemort. thats a trope i hate, when theres just this random new threat out of nowhere, thats supposedly, definitely been there this whole time... Like what was she doing during the events of the books? Why did we never hear of her before?

When doing this one have to be careful to not let Voldemort look weak against the new villain. Most Franchise do this to cheaply get a wow.. effect. Just see Dragonball or Legend of Zelda.. A Enemy just as strong as the one before has much more to offer.. you ask your self who would be stronger and if it really is such a threat.

Yeah was going acceptable but Harry using an unforgivable curse doesn't fit his character at all, no matter how much older he is or how many more kids he has. Not to mention the affair plotline just doesn't fit, and outright sucks tbh. Hermione and Harry have gone over this already. "Sister" "Brother" nothing more.
Great video, no hates toward you but this really bad writing if we take into the original series into account.

I'm not sure about Harry and Hermione having a continuous extramarital affair. I think it would work better if you build up to it and explain their headspace around their family life at the time and show their professional relationship blossom into something more. The tension leading up to it would kill. Show their vulnerability first and why I should care about the redemption. If they're sneaking around and lying to their families while also trying to save the day, it makes them deceitful in a way that is unlikeable.

people want their childhood heroes to be perfect people who can't make a mistake, but the truth is that a 17 year old and a 36 year old are completely different people. "this change is out of character" they were children the last time we saw them! are you the same exact person you were 19 years ago? if you don't like the changes, fine but you can't pretend that everyone at 17 is perfectly grown up and fully developed and will never change for the rest of their life

Sorry my man, this isn't it. I doubt you could write a sequel with meaningful character developement for the OGs without going against their development and character in the original. This series does not need a "Harry Potter" sequel. Maybe a "Adventures of Albus and Scorpius" sequel, but the old cast has to make way

Also, in no way does your story need the questionable infidelity storyline. Harry is too kind and Hermione too intelligent to not consider the feelings of those around them. And storywise there are other ways to strain a marriage in a story that are more satisfying.

I don't care for the Harry and Hermione affair idea. It is so played out. Every single story about adults is plagued by an affair.
The idea of someone stealing an artifact could work, though.
Maybe it is a gang of loyal death eaters that found a way to resurrect Voldemort.
The stolen object could be an old Horcrux that has a remnant of Voldemort's soul.
Not enough to keep him physically alive, but just enough to bind him to the item.
