وہ یمن میں پیدا ہوئے اور بعد میں اسلامی تبلیغ اور رہنمائی کے راستے پر چلتے ہوئے مشرق کا سفر کیا۔ اس کا مقصد صرف لوگوں کو تبدیل کرنا نہیں تھا بلکہ افراتفری اور ظلم سے منقسم ملک میں اسلامی اصولوں کے تحت انصاف، امن اور انصاف لانا تھا۔

اس وقت، راجہ گور گووندا سلہٹ کا حکمران تھا - ایک طاقتور بادشاہ جس نے مقامی مسلمانوں پر ظلم کیا اور زبردستی تبدیلی مذہب کی اور کمزوروں اور کمزوروں پر ظلم کیا۔ مدد کے لیے ان کی التجا سن کر، حضرت شاہ جلال (رضی اللہ عنہ) نے اپنے 360 ساتھیوں کے ساتھ سلہٹ کی طرف کوچ کیا - ایک عقیدت مند سپاہیوں، صوفیوں اور علماء کا ایک گروپ۔

ایک جھڑپ میں، راجہ گور گووندا کو شکست ہوئی اور لوگوں کو اس کی جابرانہ حکمرانی سے آزاد کرکے بھاگنے پر مجبور کیا گیا۔ اس نے خطے کی تاریخ میں ایک اہم موڑ کا نشان لگایا - اس واقعہ کے بعد، اسلام نے حضرت شاہ جلال (رضی اللہ عنہ) کی رہنمائی میں بنگال میں پنپنا اور جڑیں پکڑنا شروع کیں۔ ان کی موجودگی نے نہ صرف ایمان اور انصاف کو فروغ دیا بلکہ ایک امیر اسلامی ثقافت کی بنیاد بھی رکھی جو بنگال میں آج تک گونج رہی ہے۔

Hazrat Shah Jalal (R.A) (1271–1346) was a great Sufi saint, warrior, and leader who played a decisive role in the spread of Islam in Bengal.

He was born in Yemen and later traveled east, following the path of Islamic preaching and guidance. His aim was not just to convert people, but to bring justice, peace, and fairness under Islamic principles in a land divided by chaos and tyranny.

At that time, Raja Gour Govinda was the ruler of Sylhet — a powerful king who persecuted and forced conversions upon the local Muslims and oppressed the weak and vulnerable. Hearing their pleas for help, Hazrat Shah Jalal (R.A) marched toward Sylhet with his 360 companions — a group of devoted soldiers, Sufis, and scholars.

In a showdown, Raja Gour Govinda was defeated and forced to flee, freeing the people from his oppressive rule. This marked a turning point in the region’s history — following this event, Islam began to flourish and take root in Bengal under the guidance of Hazrat Shah Jalal (R.A). His presence not only fostered faith and justice but also laid the foundation for a rich Islamic culture that resonates in Bengal to this day.
