daaaamn best review!! gonna go buy me a pair of thos macroblaaaades :D
ОтветитьGreat review! Thank you. I'm thinking about buying a pair of rollerblades this summer and I wanted to know if you if you've heard of the Rollerblade Spark 80's that are currently on Sportchek's website? They seem very similar and nearly identical to the Rollerblade Macroblade 80's.
ОтветитьGood day bro, I'm planning to get my first inline skates and I'm keen to get the macroblade 80 but i'm concerned about sizing. You see my normal shoe size is 9US on all my Nike shoes and 8.5US on all my Adidas shoes. Can you suggest which size macroblade 80 should I get? Thanks and more power on your channel...
ОтветитьI just ordered the Macroblade 80 with the ABT brake system. I’ve read mixed reviews and heard it makes crossovers more difficult. I’m just concerned about the support. I’m used to a hard shell with 3 buckles. Worried the support won’t be there. If these are too slow then I might upgrade to Hydrogen wheels and new bearings. I’m not doing tricks but might want to skate backwards depending how quick I get my stability back. I used to play roller hockey and I’m worried if I’m not chasing a puck or ball I’ll overthink my skating technique. It’s definitely not like riding a bike I find that you loose it if you don’t use it. I live in Buffalo NY and we’ve always been a hockey town so to speak. We probably have more in common with Canada than the southern states. There are lots of senior roller hockey leagues and I’m considering joining if I can find my groove again. Roller hockey is so much better than deck hockey IMO because the games have more flow and require more finesse than mindless shin checking. These will give me an idea of what I want for my next pair. These are definitely solely for fitness and will be worn on the bike path only. I’m hoping I like them as much as you do.
ОтветитьJust bought the (K2 vo2 s 100 boa)
Hopefully more comfortable on my ninja feet
Note I will probably give the macroblades 80 a go next season. For the flexability.
Good videos
Stay safe
I decide to buy Macroblade. I am 27.5 with socks . Which size wold be better for me. 42.5 or 43?
ОтветитьHow wide are the k2?
ОтветитьI'd like to roller skate indoors too. Would it be possible to get indoor wheels for the Macroblade 80s just for when I go to the rink?
ОтветитьThanks for the review.
Can you suggest what might be a good pick between -- "Rollerblade Twister Edge M 21" and "Rollerblade Macroblade"
Cheers
Wow back to blading shout out
ОтветитьHow do you feel about 90mm wheels for indoor skating? I'm a returning skater after 16 years and use to skate on 80mm wheels. I'm looking for good speed and maneuverability and like to be able to cut wide corners without putting to much pressure to shift my ankles. And what size would you recommend for someone like me that had a 10 1/2 in foot length. I want a good snug tight fit, but get overwhelmed when choosing the size because most say to order a size up to your foot size.
ОтветитьDo you think the ABT would be beneficial for blading with a dog pulling me? Stopping power is a priority over cornering. Thanks!
ОтветитьBecause of your video, I purchased a Macroblade 80 yesterday as my re-entry into inline skates for the first time in many years. Thank you very much for making the points you did. Had I not watched your video, I might have opted for a 90 or 100 mm wheel rollerblade because of the purported advantages of handling bumps better and faster speed. Your point about speed not necessarily being a positive thing because it also means you fall harder hit home for me. My intention in rollerblading is the same as yours -- exercise, and the Macroblade 80 requiring more exertion than a more effortless skate is a positive feature, not a negative. Your emphasis on how comfortable the Macroblade 80 is what convinced me that this is the right skate for me. Thank you for the concise and informative review!
ОтветитьGood review; I had just narrowed it down to those two companies. Is there a much higher end skate that you suggest you like over the macro blade? If not I think that's the way for me to go. I like these sneaker type blades better to be honest. What about 80 versus 100 mm wheels, what's your thought on that? Also, what about a shorter versus longer wheelbase?
ОтветитьThank you so much! Your videos helped me out a lot! Have you tried Macroblade 84 maybe? Would be great to hear a review on that too 💯👍🏻
ОтветитьHi I have qwestion about whells with beter for UK road. Macroblade 80 or 90?
I will use only for distance. And fun with family.
I want to get back in to skating but can’t decide between the macroblade 80 and the macroblade 90. Most of my skating will be on sidewalks, asphalt, etc for getting in better cardio shape. The 80’s are $150 and the 90’s are $219. I wear a size 10 shoe, but I tried on 80’s at the store and they were just a wee bit loose. I probably need a 9.5 but you can’t find 9.5’s or any half sizes in the 80’s anywhere including online . But, the 90’s online come in 9.5. Which pair would you recommend? I heard with the 80’s you can upgrade the wheel size to 84mm. If going with the macroblade 80, can you add a little thicker insole to help with the size?
ОтветитьWhat do you think of the Rollerblade Hydrogen 84mm 85A Wheelsfor the Rollerblade Macroblade 80 as replacement wheels with say Bionic ABEC 7 bearings?
ОтветитьJust received our skates, I have a silly question for you. Do you use say Rollerblades socks or what do you use when skating? Thanks and have a nice afternoon/evening.
ОтветитьHello. I recently got back into inline skating after a 20 plus year hiatus. Why do you recommend skating in different skates? Back in the day I only skated in one pair. Well actually two, one for fitness and the other were hockey blades.
ОтветитьAwesome job, thanks! So helpful
ОтветитьBut
ОтветитьThanks for reviewing all these skates. I purchased Rollerblade RB Cruisers last year as my first skate in 30 years..absolutely love the fit and comfort. I want to pick up a pair of 3 wheel skates - you seem to like the Macroblade 3 wheel. Is there any other skate I should check out? Cross training, wide foot are only parameters. Have you found a BOA that is comfortable?
ОтветитьThanks for your video, really insightful. Nearly got tempted by the Microblade 80, but ABEC5 wheels is what I got with my first pair of K2 20 years ago, so wanted to try something more advanced, and have bought the Microblade 100. I hope I will adjust well to the three wheels set up! Greeting from London, UK !
ОтветитьGot the zetra blade elite after watching this video thinking they would still be decent but they were utterly horrible and i couldnt even push off my left foot for some reason. Too wobbly and too much flex. Shoe was my exact size. Just wondering if macroblade 80 is the same or much better than Zetrablade elite? I also tried the flying eagle fs6, they are too narrow for my wide feet and hurt alot (i got a size bigger) and are generally uncomfortable although much higher quality than the zetrablade elite and really fast. Would love your advice on which blade to get, i want something premium but good value for money. I am thinking of splurging on rollerblade rb cruiser if you recommend it? Roces? Fila? I live in Dubai and FR inline skates are not available. Powerslide zoom is but i'm reading it's still an entry level skate with forward tilt problems.
ОтветитьHow do you size them? I wear a 9.5 running shoe US, would I get a 9 in rollerblades?
ОтветитьWhats your opinion of the K2 Soto?
ОтветитьI used to do aggressive inline skating, roller hockey, and ice hockey for like 16 years - I am looking for my first pair of skates for cruising around the neighborhood/fitness purposes - would you recommend the Macroblade 80s as a good pair to get back into it?? Great video!
ОтветитьThank you, I just purchased the 80’s. Been looking for rollerblades for weeks now. My plan is to exercise my golden retriever.
ОтветитьI really appreciate the videos you do on reviewing in line skates. You really know your stuff. I have been thinking about getting back into inline skating after not skating much in recent years. Fitness has a lot to do with it, but I have been skating for years and always enjoyed it. I have a pair of hockey skates, but wanted to buy a new pair of recreational/fitness skates as I do not play street hockey anymore. I definitely don't believe in going too cheap on skates. I am considering the rollerblade macrobalde 80 or the K2 Fit Pro 84. I watched your video on the macrobalde 80, but I sadly did not see one down on the K2s. I wanted to get their thoughts on those. I am having a tough call on either one.
ОтветитьHave you tried the Macroblade 84? How does it compare to the 80 (I am still kinda leaning towards the 80).
ОтветитьToday, I just bought it THANKS to your review!!!
ОтветитьHi, please tell what is your typical avarage speed on the same track using 80mm and 100mm wheels? Is this a big differance in speed?
ОтветитьGreat videos by the way 😊.!!!!
ОтветитьWicked skates
Ответитьlove the dubstep at the end
ОтветитьBut.. 👀
ОтветитьI’m on the fence between macro blade 80 and zetrablade. I want something that will last for at least 5 years.
ОтветитьHey there. Thanks so much for all of your roller blade reviews. They've really been helpful. I played roller hockey when I was a young kid, but didn't take it into my teenage years. Now in my early 30s, I'm considering getting my first adult pair of roller blades as another means of fitness. Like you, I kind of had to let go of running because it wasn't kind on my body (low back issues). So I bought a bicycle, as there are a lot of local trails, and biked far distances, but everything gets old eventually and rollerblading seems like it'd give me a new, fresh thrill.
From all your videos, I have gathered I should steer clear of K2 skates. It seems they don't have the same comfortability that Rollerblade does and it seems there are durability concerns. So, I've narrowed my choices to the following Macroblade 80, Macroblade 90, Macroblade 100-3WD (soft shell) and then I am intrigued by two higher end 'hard shell' skates: the RB Twister XT and the RB Pro X.
As a beginner skate, it seems the Macroblade 80 would be your recommendation. However, I am a half size US shoe (a 9.5) and I noticed that oddly, the Macroblade 90 & 1003D both have a 9.5 size, but the 80 does not. I'd have to settle for size 10.
Question 1: Do you think getting the correct size within a half inch is important enough to steer clear of the Macroblade 80?
Question 2: I have repeatedly read that it's not wise for a beginner to jump to 100mm skates. Yet I recall your 'short' in which you made the case that the 100mm diameter is far superior to the rest. That tempted me to go with the 100 3WD, but I also don't want to collide into someone around a corner and get myself or anyone else hurt......... what do you think constitutes someone being considered an 'intermediate' ready to make the leap to 100mm? A basic ability to ice skate & roller blade on rare occasion thanks to rollerblading as a kid (me - lol) or months/years of adult experience riding 4x80mm?
Question 3: I have heard skate enthusiasts rave about the hard shell 'RB Twister XT' & 'RB Pro X'. Both 4x80mm. Should I not get myself into the hype if I'm simply someone like you, who wants to use rollerblading as a means of fitness? The designs of those skates are very cool, and REI/Inline Warehouse are selling them for roughly $240, but for $300/325 I might be able to start with Macroblade 80 and then get the 100 3WD sometime in the future.
Thanks again, and sorry for the lengthy reply. Just feels like a big choice I want to get right and I appreciate your input.... I wish there were local stores where you could try each pair on.
Whats up brotha! I got another question that i was curious about. Hiw much better and/or different are the zetrablades vs macroblades considering the price difference and the platsic composite frame vs the aluminum? Or even vs another similar priced 200ish other aluminum framed? I like the funny little video clips you and picture inserts added in, lol! 😂 Right on!
ОтветитьI was 13-15 between 97-99' when i was rollerblading and i was a inline skater and my homies were stunt skaters, i could only skate on paved roads for a little while, the skates vibrated so much it kinda tickled my feet, but if i was at a wooden roller rink i would spend hours there skating. damn i miss them days. Ride safe out there boys, make sure to get ya a good fitting helmet.
ОтветитьJust picked up a lightly used pair for a good price. Seems like the older model, but I'm pretty recreational in frequency, so it seems like I made a good purchase. I'll definitely look at grabbing the newer model whenever I wear these out.
ОтветитьJust stumbled here today. I have a old pair of k2 exo 6.0. Luv them. I could put 4 hrs a day on them. No problem.
ОтветитьMy first pair was a black and green roller blade from zellers, late 80's when they first appeared.
ОтветитьI know you Canadians are smart people, y'all stay quiet and keep to yourselves. However' when you make your videos can you please dumb it down a notch for your American viewers and tell us your distances in miles? We have no idea what kilometers are and frankly' we're to lazy to google convert. Thx, decent review, but left me scratching my head using that meteric jibber jabber.
ОтветитьI got into minimalist running shoes at the beginning of covid. Same experience. Ended up with bad plantar fasciitis and pain in the ball of my feet. I still run, but I had to switch to old man shoes. I have to say, though, the minimalist shoes are everything good they say. You're faster and more responsive, and I never felt healthier. But maybe I should've eased more into them.
ОтветитьYou've convinced me to get the Macroblade 80. Can't wait to try them, thanks for your sacrifice informing us.
ОтветитьYour full of crap! Ordered a pair of rollerblades because of your review, but a really hate them! They fit horrible and pain on my ankles and not comfortable. My old k2 are way better😢
ОтветитьThanks for the informative and entertaining review! I just bought a pair of Macroblade 80. It’s been about 26 years since I’ve inline skated and 41 years old now. Looking forward to cruising and also getting a workout in. You’re 💯 right about speed, it’s all relative. Just because you go faster doesn’t mean you are better or have more fun. The faster you go the harder the fall. Thanks!
ОтветитьI want to thank you for talking about overuse injuries by using the same skate everyday.
I was skating my 110mm tri skates almost everyday months ago and was having lower back pain. I couldn't skate for more than a mile (two after a rest day) before I had to rest.
I took your advice about switching skates, and did yoga stretching for my back and was finally able to unlock more distance. I feel 4x90 works my legs while 3x110 taxes my lower back. I rarely ever have lower back pain now. I can now do 15 miles before I have to rest.
Maybe it was a small line in your monologue to you in your review, but it made a big difference for me. Much obliged, sir!
