When it comes to container gardening...it took me a bit to jump on the “felt pot wagon”...but after being gifted some of these handy felt pots, it’s been a complete game changer and is actually saving me water while at the same time making sure I’m not overwatering.
Overwatering is probably the biggest problem to container gardening...the roots just cannot breathe very well and are already limited on where they can travel. This often results in root rot due to poor drainage, and I find that felt pots are ideal for eliminating that problem...yet you can also clearly see that the plants also retain the water for longer periods of time.
Another reason I love felt pots is because they are foldable and collapsible. I can fit an entire army of felt pots into a single tote when I am not using them...plus I’ve learned that it makes transplanting super gentle for the plant as you can just fold and bend the felt around the soil and roots...therefore the plant doesn’t go into shock during the transplant....remember young Jedi...slow is steady and steady is fast 😉
Not passing along this helpful trick would be down right robbery in my opinion. When you learn something...you should make it a point to teach it. Otherwise you are a thief of knowledge...and it’s the same thing as stealing. We should be more kind to one another and help each other learn new things...whether it’s gardening or just life in general.
