How to Inoculate Grain Spawn Bags

I like your videos and really appreciate your content. I don't mean to be a dick but there's just 1 thing I'd like to point out, liquid won't pour out of a syringe if you hold it pointing down, it would only occur if there was an air port at the top of the syringe allowing a pressure differential. I only say this as it makes sense to me to hold it pointing down to limit potential contamination for amateurs like me that only use a still air box. Will you always have black specs in the syringe of spores? I bought some online and it's just a somewhat yellow liquid.

How long does it take until you fist see signs of mycelium growth

This is all fine, however it isn't necessary to remove the soot it's already sterile and it won't harm anything.

What is the liquid medium in the syringe in which the spores are mixed before injecting into the substrate?

I screwed up my filters seems like.. bags were so tight, airtight, had no air in them at all, didn't make any sense, so I removed white thin layer of the filter, then slowly the bags started to get air, which would make much more sense now. Well beginner here, lets see what happens..

I appreciate the nice video with narration. Although there are a couple of things that seem odd for someone that did sterile environment work in college.

-The flame sterilization of the needle doesn’t make sense unless you are concerned that you grain bag is already contaminated: the port, grain, and needle are clean. I think this is more important if you are cutting agar as you don’t want to transfer between plates or stratification for contamination. SIDE QUEST: the soot is sterile.

-Spraying the needle is odd, as using good sterile technique will be more effective (placement of items, moving left to right, not breathing on the specimen, etc.)

Can you inject the bag again after harvest?

I’ve found using a massage gun with foam-ball attachment works really well in breaking up clusters of spores in the syringe. Just let the syringe gently bounce off the ball until spores are distributed evenly in the liquid. “AL Tec”. You heard it here first. 😉

I did this and couldn't hear the hussing sound when i whiped the needle after burning it!!! 😂 i guess my earmuffs playing music made me lose on conforming the hissing sound of the needle cooling off after rubbing with alcohol .

Notice the needle without the cap on lol….sure you sprayed it with your alcohol! Very very important!

Ive been hearing that the temp should be between 65-75° so who tf do i listen to bc no one can seem to be on the same page

The leur lock needles are sterile packaged. No need to alcohol swab and flame it. In fact, you’re probably increasing the chance of microbial growth on the flame’s residue.

The problem is you're using rubbing alcohol and it does not kill bacterial spores
