ОтветитьAlbion is Britain
ОтветитьVenice must be the biggest port in Europe
ОтветитьArabic civilization is actually located in North Africa
ОтветитьPyramid exist near Arab territory, it's called Egypt the "Arab Republic"
ОтветитьWakanda is in the Southland
ОтветитьLuscia is South America, Amazon forest is there!
ОтветитьHoly land is North of the Pyramids
ОтветитьKurgan and Kislev that's a good combination!
ОтветитьSo....games workshop basically made a weird earth we know of....what amazing imagination 🤥
ОтветитьLooks a lot like LOTR
ОтветитьI like how they insisted that war should be constant everywhere that they sometimes doesnt make sense. Like i remember reading description of a country that goes like "this nation is where trade and culture thrive... oh btw there is a field of constant warfare not far from here"
ОтветитьWait until the Imperium arrives and sticks a lasgun into their hands
ОтветитьMy poor, poor school project 😢
ОтветитьWarhammer Fantasy feels like a “Comprehensive Geographical, Cultural and Ethnographic Map Of The World” written/designed by some early modern period Aristocratic kid who was like the 5th son of a minor Viscount - So no hope to inherit and not even much use for arranged marriage or clerical enrollment - that never leaved his home town, and was actually so frail that 2 hours under the sun will give him a case of “bad vapors” leaving him bed ridden for 3-5 days straight; Who was a “self-taught”scholar after going trough the family library vast archive of works and taking at an uncritical face value what he read or heard. “Lizard Warriors worshiping Frog Prophets in Golden Cities deep in the South American Jungle?! Wow, impressive!”. “Ice magicians Warlocks occupying the throne of the Tsar? Well, duh”. “The many plagues spread by rats being actually a literal curse sent by the Rat People? Always suspected”. “HRE being actually Holy and Roman and an Empire…? Well, that’s pushing my skepticism… Tell me again about how the Arthurian Mythos are factual and how beings of Nordic and Celtic mythology have full blown civilizations out there as we speak.”
Games Workshop only found out those texts years later, found it to be the funniest shit they’ve ever seen - and being the 80’s and everyone being under the influence of cocaine (or derivatives), they did the what was the sole logical progression - added the much welcomed influences from Moorcock and published as a pulpy Pastiche-esque table top game scenario.
Because I remember seeing cartography from around the period that makes this subtle and tame by comparison.
BUT HEEEEEY
THATS JUST A THEORY
I find in interesting that many that create "fantasy" worlds always incorporate our Earth and it's people and cultures. Tolkien and R.R. Martin also fell into that trap by placing similar cultures that we recognize in our world in the very similar cultures and regions in the "fantasy" worlds. it would seem that Warhammer Fantasy has done the same.
ОтветитьAmazing vid
ОтветитьThis was amazing holy shit, got me instantly hooked and in a writing mood, now I wanna add to my homebrew D&D world and write of ancient histories and different kinda human civilisations and the histories of the elves and dwarves etc
ОтветитьJesus Christ they could have used a little more fantasy in drawing the map ..it looks like a map of the real world drawn by a pre schooler
ОтветитьWarhammer Fantasy is simultaneously one of the most creative and creatively bankrupt settings in all of fiction. As great as many of the factions are, it’s impossible to deny that pretty much all of the human nations are just copied and pasted from real world history and the map itself is just our own world drawn really really badly (with elf Atlantis/Numenor).
ОтветитьBeautiful Video on the World of Warhammer Fantasy. Both Informative and Entertaining and your Narration legit gave me goose bumps.
ОтветитьThank you for this great video!
ОтветитьThis is very interesting video.
ОтветитьI ask this as someone who is just a total noob to anything War Hammer. But the different War Hammer environments are in no way related to each other?
ОтветитьWhere are the skaven
ОтветитьI'm more of a 40K guy myself, but I appreciate something about Fantasy: the sense of being hemmed in. The world captures the idea that our settlements are always on the brink and we're surrounded on all sides by hostile nature. It must've been what it was like to be a human in the olden days, when the woods stretched everywhere, instead of wilderness being confined to a few small pockets.
ОтветитьThey genuienly have no reason to make Cathay sound as overpowered as it does, beside to simp for the Chinese market.
ОтветитьI am new to the warhammer universe, can someone explain the difference between warhammer fantasy and warhammer 40,000? I am getting confused
ОтветитьA bit of info that contextualizes the Warhammer Fantasy world and caused me to see it in a new light: in 40K (I know the settings aren't technically linked, but they're made by the same people with the same ideas), the presence of a chaos gate on a planet effectively marks a world for death. Not even the most diehard factions of the Imperium will fight on such a world - it is an already lost cause, and the most they might do for it is try to blow the whole thing up as they pass it by, just in case doing so might slow down the spread of chaos from the planet.
The world of Warhammer Fantasy has two chaos gates, and the people living on it are still alive. Not only are they successfully fighting back against chaos, but they are so successful at it that they have time to fight each other as well. It is entirely possible for a person living in this world to go through their entire lives without ever encountering even a significant trace of chaos, on a planet that should by all accounts probably be floating in the Warp right now.
The factions in Warhammer Fantasy are fucking badass. They might not have the incalculable scale of factions from 40k, but given what they have to work with their feats put the armies of the Imperium to shame.
So if i was trying to play a lore friendly warhammer 3, the tomb kings faction and Sylvania vampires would not exist? I read in the lore that the vampires were defeated and Nehekara was pretty much abandoned. And for Norsca, the factions there would be migratory instead of settled?
Ответитьthis is basically earth and its tales!?
ОтветитьI think this world is good for a good MMORPG
ОтветитьA eulogy for a world.
ОтветитьArabia? Nippon? wtf. Great video btw
ОтветитьSo basically earth with flare
ОтветитьSo..
I'm guessing this game is set on some kind of alternate Earth.
You could not have had a better narrator do this series ❤
ОтветитьFirst-rate content. If this is your kind of subject, a book of similar nature would be useful. "Stars Aligned" by Olivia Whitestone
ОтветитьSo warhammer fantasy world is a reflection of our dimension… amazing..
ОтветитьDid they name their own version of Transylvania as Sylvania? What even is this (lol)
Ответить"Legendary Yheetees"
ОтветитьNever i see fantasy world so obviously inspire from real life like WH fantasy. Even their map and area name are so similar to our world 😂
ОтветитьWe need a 40K version of this
ОтветитьSuch a lazy and blatant rip off of our own real world.
Ответитьearthn't
ОтветитьA bit of a shame you stopped doing these, this world still has so much to explore..
ОтветитьThis retconning and endless hype for cathay making them out to be the best in every way to appease the chinese audience is exactly why I have to end all my campaigns in WH3 with cathay colonized and having their “might cities” renamed to funny names 😊
