Use a air brush to apply the sealern cheap one on with air in the can lay down smood and go alot faster they can out nice.
The seats turned out great, damn good job Girl. Cheers from 🇸🇪
What a job!
The small leather strips inside the alcantara parts would had me drive nuts...
But I'm glad that you listened to my thought, "use the hood as a workbench!"
🤣
Thanks a lot for showing, don't get too stressed only for pumping out a new video!
👍👍👍
never tried it but some people says that to use a hot watersteamer on leather will make it shrink and make it firmer again..dents might come out etc..but use a kitchen towel infront of the steamer so the steam hits that first and not directly on the leather...might hurt the leather instead then.
Seats look amazing Joy, love your attention to detail - the invisible bits done to the same standard as the rest. So what you can't see them, you'll know where they are and that they are perfect - I'd do the same if it were my car, I couldn't live with myself if I'd cut a corner like that. Great progess and can't wait to see what's next on this car.
Nice job.
I'm curious about how you gonna restore the "passion red" color of the car.
Joy, just dab the alcantara damage with a Sharpy pen and you won't be able to see it anymore.
Great work but you do realise that it isn't actually leather!
Wow this is going to be great
Great video the seats look like new I'm impressed 👍it's a slow job worth it in the end
These seats looks a 1000% better now. Good job !
Amazing job 👍
To get the dent out, try gently going over the area with a steamer
Nice job on those seats. Guess I missed this part! But your crx can`t handle some rain? I enjoy to follow your videos, love that Dutch/ eng accent👍🏻
There's a saying "all good things take time." Anyone who restores old cars and wants a good result knows this
Steam might help with the indents in the leather
Ответитьthis is a great series ya'll..
she doing it! nice job joy 😊
You should get a trickle charger like a battery tender for the Honda
You have an excellent work ethic and attitude
To get rid of the dents in the leather, gentle use of a heat gun should take them out. The leather was originally charcoal, not black but they look great as you've done them. Most of the red 850Rs had the beige interior, nicer having it in black in my opinion.
You can try steam on the dent in the seat or a rag with very hot water 😊 it may help to pack it in plastic and let it sit in the sun ☀️🌞☀️
🇧🇻
Looking good. Did you give the leather a feed/conditioner before you started this work? That drivers seat leather looked rather dry.
Really nice job, looking like "brand new" used seats... And were thinking about just that last thing you said...sealer and lubrication for the interior...👍...the pressure marks on back site, if you have a steamer you can, carefully use it to apply the steam and it may stretch out..... "-maybe, if you take a damp cloth, warm water, and apply gently and dry it with your paint- hairdryer" it maybe stretch out to...I mean, leather is natural and water is natural, and wind ...ok, warm water and wind are also natural, cant harm I think....
Good job, and you leasy...dont think so, maybe some "lettering combined illness", I think!
Yeah, camera focus.... easier to focus on the closeup parts, without a pretty face in the photo- lins.....😁😜💚🩵💙
Im very impressed,,,good work
Great job. It will look amazing when you're done.
You need a little fold down work bench! Seats look really good might try that on my porsche seats
Good job, that is a very cool looking car you have there!
Ответитьthats a good base for a project. those b-series engines are very boost friendly.
Ответитьnice pick of car (i´m swedish); ););) awesome job so far!
Hey pretty lady! I have the same car, but an early 1998 V70R. Best tip for the 'dent' in your rear seat? Hairdryer on the area and keep moving/stretching the leather. It will come out! Love the tattoos btw
You put a lot of guys to shame, where are all the women my age like you? 😭
Volvo interiors always held up pretty well. It's pretty wild that the older R's had alcantara but the newer 60's didnt. Awesome work!
More sanding, more layers of filling before paint.
Don't stress about having a whole section "finished" just so you can upload each week. Anyone who's spent any time working on old cars knows that a simple five minute job takes an hour, an hour's job takes a day and a one day job takes three 😅 Keep treating the videos more like a diary of the week, and keep it fun for yourself. It's only TV shows where a whole car gets finished in half an hour... 😉
You did a nice job 🎉 there and dabbing the dye is definitely better than rubbing! When i did the Audi TT seats in my Mk1 Golf, i also used a top coat sealant so the dye doesn’t come put on your clothes (potentially). You just dab it on in the same way and it will make it last longer too
Well thanks, I already have way too many things on my to-do list, and now you've made me want to restore my project car seats as well 😂. All kidding aside, thats a very cool project car and the seats look so much better now!
Hobbies are hobbies for a reason. Do them when you have time. You still need to think about the usual life stuff like work and looking after your health. Respect all the way for you! Just by doing what you do already proves you are not lazy, so don't even think about that again HAHA
Ronal R50 Aero wheels shows you have excellent taste and style. The 850R needs something similar to relive the touring car days. Did you actually clean the Alcantara or just brush it while it was wet? I didn't see you wipe off the sections w/a towel to actually remove dirt/soiling. Sure, the brush agitated the dirt but you let it dry on the fabric. Wiping it after brushing it (while damp) will remove the dirt.
Your project is a testament to the Volvo community's dedication to preserving these classic cars.
Use heat to shrink the leather like for those dimples. A good heat gun and patience should allow the leather to shrink some and erase the dimples.
Ответитьthose seats turned out pretty damn good I'd say!! You are doing great work!
Ответитьwhen i bought used sport seats to my car i took seat covers off and put them to washing machine, oh my god how dirty that water was! well you cant do that to leather seats
