Great vid. Have you ever tried aluminum foil for pitting? I’ve had good results using aluminum foil with a little wd40.

I use that exact snare drum to play out. I really like it, mine has a Remo ps3 coated batter, otherwise 100% stock. Also, I tune it very tight, and it sounds amazing. I like the color of yours too.

My favorite kick head combo are the Attack Orbit set. I never need any muffling and they sound great. Have "Kick Port" installed from factory too.

Thats not an old cheap Ludwig accent kit.
Its a quality, undersold, under valued under appreciated kit, that in 05,06,07 was like 4-500$(my friends brother had one) and these days the same type of set is twice as much, with less beef, thinner cheaper shells in most cases, but with more colors.maybe the wrap is applied nicer,or they charge the premium for a decent laquered outer ply

Zach Barocas is such a bada$$, great to hear someone mention him. I picked up an Accent CS Custom about a year ago with a bunch of other crap. Sold the other crap for $50 more than I paid for everything. Was going to sell the drums too, but they sound awesome. I think they're all birch shells and just have a great sound. Totally underrated/undervalued and horribly marketed by Ludwig in general.

Nice work, I love it! My neighbor found an Accent Evolution 10" tom that some college kids were throwing out. He gave it to me and I fixed it up and re-wrapped it to match a Ludwig Classic Birch kit. I sunk more into it than it was worth, but it was free to begin with it and was a good learning experience.

P.s. the driving portion isn’t in slow much…it’s nyc pure traffic 100% of the time

Closest I've tried to the Ludwig Accent is the Backbeat (Ludwig doesn't list this kit on their site). As far as I've found, the Backbeat is a rebranded Accent, sold exclusively at Guitar Center, and I was fortunate to grab a new one at $380 (normally goes for $500...along with the Breakbeats). From personal experience, the Backbeat is a good starter kit, just don't forget to grab better heads and cymbals (thinking of some Remo heads for Christmas, and I've been eyeing the Paiste PST 5 Rock pack for cymbals).

My coworker gave me a 6 piece Ludwig Accent Custom Birch kit for free and it's really nice, it was blue stained but I wrapped it in blue aqua glitter. I was totally surprised at how good that kit sounded once I got it tuned up, it already had the exact heads I use which is Remo Emporer so i didn't have to buy Tom heads but I did buy bass drum because it had Aquarian super kick which i don't like. I found a new set of Pearl stock heads for $30 on Offer Up and they are like Remo Powerstroke which is what I use. Your kit sounds pretty good 👍

Is the Acent kit still holding up? I seen a set listed on Facebook and thought about grabbing them.
