He should do a live piano solo of the song. Just that piano and no other instruments. Beautiful.

SIMPLY A FANTASTIC SONG excellent live performance, the emotion in John's singing and playing is incredible, especially towards the end, you can tell hes sooo into the music.

Probably going to get down-ranked for this, but his voice is pretty bad live. I dig the song, but live, his voice really lacks.

@sk8tafrnk I never said it was bad. his raw voice is fantastic. I'd MUCH rather see musicians sing their hearts out and hear the flaws in their voice which everyone has vs. watching someone lip sync. Straylight Run is an amazing band, the mixing was a little bad on the producers part when the girl started singing. but irregardless watching them sing their hearts out is amazing.

A nice little song for you kids. Looks like your generation might make some decent music. Still, can compare to Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven or Springsteen Born to Run or The Doors LA Woman. It would be best for you kids just to study your history of music here in the USA because it will never reach the heights it did in the 60s and 70s.

Just because you haven't heard it doesnt mean its out there... maybe you should stop listening to the doors or zeppelin for the millionth time and look for some other good music. Its out there.

@arefx This band has probably never read Thus Spoke Zarathrustra or knows who Camus is or Sartre. To use the word existentialism in the title of the a song, you should have an understading of the subject.

Some people just don't get this song. It's not about sounding perfect. It's about singing like you think no one's listening, and that's what John is doing.

Haha, you're right, lol. I really shouldn't have written my comment like that, lol, way too extreme, I don't actually feel THAT strongly about it. I just think that it's such a beautiful song, lol, I should have said something more like "How could anyone say that this is a bad song?" Not like anyone here has said that, but somebody that I know, so I was reacting to a personal experience. Thanks for commenting on that, I was going kind of mental.

ha, you're welcome.. I agree that it is a very moving song for me personally as well, but some people would think its boring, whatever, they have different personalities and life experiences.

will forever be a teenage anthem to those of us who grew up in the 2000s. shame my little brother and sister will never listen to something like this.

All of the haters that are talking smack about John and Michelle's singing and playing obviously have no sense of what a truly great live performance is! I have been a musician for 30 years now, classically trained on piano, vocally trained, guitar player, and sax player. I've busked, and I've played the stages, and I will certainly say that this is a great performance by Straylight. Johns voice is perfect for this song as is Michelle's. You seem to forget that these guy's WROTE this song, therefore, however they perform it is exactly the way it's supposed to be! I'd like to see any of you do better. Thank you Straylight for such a wonderful performance, and yes I'm still coming back to it in 2018. That in itself say's alot!!!

Did anyone hear Eddy left taking back Sunday, he was in the band since 2000 I think, I was hoping Fred maraschino would rejoin him or Matthew fazzi who played on new again.

Why did this band go on indefinite hiatus Ik John and Shaun are back in taking back Sunday, but Eddie Reyes just left.

If this the last comment you’ve read ina while just know you guys are timeless. All you need is one hit to seal the dea in history and you got more than a few but this song specifically is a classic and earned you a spot in history and one of the greats in your genre. Church!
