Real voices Real music, now it's Ai
ОтветитьSelling "the DREAM' to 850 Million idiots is where the money is now. Tim sells his course and pays his bills doing this now. The music business is dead and that is the good news???!! Good luck paying your electric bill with music sales! AVOID this ridiculous business at all costs. It is all a scam!
ОтветитьRemember when the radio and phonograph killed the music industry?
ОтветитьBlood ocean!!!
ОтветитьCrowd fund tours. Release it yourself. Say what you want. You are free now. If you wanted to be a musician for fame you better be hot, young and have real loose morals.
ОтветитьHardcopies whether it’s vinyl tape or CD you better have hardcopies because one day it’ll all disappear all of it we need new devices then play vinyl or CD
ОтветитьGood for you horrible for the people listening
ОтветитьArtist still must spend plenty money to make a great product. Either pay a recording studio, musicians and mixers, mastering etc.. OR build your own studio $$$ . Almost always a money loss for independant artist because of the very low pay for streems. 1000 streems pays an average of about $ 3.00 to label or artist. A cup of coffe ....if your lucky. Years ago if you sold 1,000 CDs you made at least some money. There is nothing financially good about what has happened to artist producing music, spin it as you like. The decline of physical product sales has done that.
Ответитьnow if only the same thing could happen to the film industry…. and the games industry… you know, just most creative industries. overall, the decentralization of all these types of industries would be a great thing.
ОтветитьThank you so much. This videos enlightening
ОтветитьIf you are talking about the album industry and its branches, you are right, it is (hopefully temporarily) declining. If we talk about the music industry as a whole, it is dead only in the USA. And it seems that it will never be revived. Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Italy - the music industry there is thriving to varying degrees. In some places things are better, in others worse. But none of these countries will stoop to the decline and degradation that is in the States today. Why is this happening? All I hear is constant complaints and whining from the "heroes of American rock" about how music is dead. While people fill stadiums and sports palaces at the most prestigious music festivals around the world to watch and listen to Baby Metal, Rammstein, Tarja Turunen, The Warning, Maneskin and Voice of Bareprot.
ОтветитьOne thing we must give musicians a lot of credit for is they know how to find ways to survive. It may be in another field outside of music at least for awhile but you can't take the music out of their souls and they WILL come back.
Ответитьai cost me way more than i make. so far...it's not profitable yet and I don't use bots or ai to manage things i have to do everything manually including the remastering and the manual hard editing.
Ответитьno one wants to be music and a sandwich maker.
Ответитьtaking all the jobs away and.. most of the pay for the artist so that Daniel Ek can make 15 BILLION. right ?
ОтветитьHeads up. some are asking you to pay for classes. Look around and you can get stuff free. donate if you want but maybe dont pay a subscription
ОтветитьI remember all the sleepless nights I had locking myself in my room trying to master the electric guitar until my fingers bled. Back in 1996 when I graduated from high school, I wanted to be a musician but I realize that it will be VERY HARD to earn a decent living doing this. So I decided to pursue a career in IT since I was also passionate about computers. Now I am 47 years old and I own a $1.4M house in San Jose thanks to the high salary and stock options from my tech job and I got lucky in the stock market as my company stock rose to over 30X returns. I have over $5M in my investments portfolio and a house that is all paid off. I am now retired early and play music on my free time. In the meantime, all my musician friends are still struggling to find gigs to play in and they have nothing saved for retirement. NOT PURSING MY DREAM OF BEING A MUSICAN EARLY IN MY LIFE IS THE BEST CHOICE I EVER MADE.
ОтветитьSamuriguitarist. are you on Trubify ?
ОтветитьI think what i miss the most is the shared cultural reality we all had
ОтветитьTrue
ОтветитьThe proof as to which system is better, new versus old, is "in the pudding". Most modern music is pretty awful, compared to the music of yesteryear.
ОтветитьChrist I’m old
ОтветитьThe industry has been ripping people off for ever!! 30 bucks for a cd??! Yeah right.
ОтветитьNo one was complaining about Napster when we were paying $21 for a CD in 1998. The industry had it coming.
ОтветитьThe music industry had died in 2000...it really had been anything to really to talk about....a lot of us still listen to the Beatles and stones Michael Jackson or everything else before that... now in 2025 there is no one 😮
Ответитьdownloads and home studios, but live is more desirable so thats the way
ОтветитьSad but true...
ОтветитьIf we don't have as musicians control on ouputs (radio/tv/streaming services), we are screwed. Yes we are able to make music more easily. But still the incomes go to the plateforms. Consequences of the album era is that if musicians doing show (concert and so on) want to be little better paid, a strike won't do nothing because we're replaceable by radio ou YT streams meantime.
ОтветитьWith regards to costs of putting music out, I can record a decent quality demo on an iPad 8 track recorder app. I agree with Tim, it's better today but it's harder to make a living, many pros and cons. All the best.
ОтветитьI imagine the last names of these parasitic record producers involved various precious metals
ОтветитьA wealth of information creates a poverty of attention
ОтветитьModern music for a large part… absolutely sucks
ОтветитьNobody believes in this stuff anymore, and with good reason,it ain't real, hard to make a living off of nothing.
Ответитьnow is better trust me you can do all by your own you have all the tools and thats better
ОтветитьWhat if you're not good at anything else? I'm not good at anything besides music!
ОтветитьCANT NO BODY GO DO THE WORK TO MAKE THE MONEY TO KEEP THE INDUSTRY IN BUSINESS
ОтветитьSame goes to Movies
ОтветитьGreat vid . One of the aspects I like about the present situation is Indie music has a chance to be heard worldwide . And without any artistic meddling from a record company .
ОтветитьIts not dead, very very different and hard to keep up with the changes though
ОтветитьTldr: We replaced an unfair system that excludes tones of people not based on their actul musical talent who don't fit a specific model with a new one that does exactly the same thing but pays the people in it less money for more work. Yep. Sounds like progress.
ОтветитьLive music needs to come back. That’s the casualty. If we value live music as much as alcohol musicians will be doing great in this era.
ОтветитьThe music industry is dead? NO WAY! I make a 6 figure income online with music licensing. If you or anyone else isnt making money off of your music then your music sucks or you dont know what you're doing. I also play concerts and make alot of money doing that.
ОтветитьThe mystique has been taken away. The public can see what's behind the curtain now and see the artists all the time all over social media. It used to be a treat to catch a few minutes of ACDC on television once a month.
ОтветитьNovember and December are months when musicians are able to increase their sales, unfortunately these months are monopolized by these terrible Xmas songs and Mariah Carey.
Ответить
