Bethesda was holding to realism. Not fantasy. It takes MONTHS to fly between planets.
ОтветитьThat doesn't just sound ridiculous. It is ridiculous. They cut huge corners on that game and you can definitely feel it while playing. It's a bad game. Damn shame.
ОтветитьHave not played star field so take what I say with a pinch of salt. Im also not trying to support it just reason it out.
During development there is a lot of stages, perhaps at one stage flight speed was faster and you could fly from one planet to the next.
However as they developed it got laggy and buggy so they mad it how it is now, but with a increased flight speed. Then they noticed it wasn’t enjoyable with a increased flight speed so they lowered it, but decided not to use extra time to try interplanetary travel.
Granted that or they tried it and found out to the average player like every other space game that allows it flying vast distances is boring and putting in a lot of encounters becomes overbearing, and adding another drive would eat up a additional key combination of the limited control key layout.
Granted I would have to play both starfield and the mod to give you a better reason.

ОтветитьThis video is ridiculous. The games are built for mods. Skyrim has persisted over a decade because mods. Expecting a perfect game from Bethesda is insanity.

ОтветитьYou can't take a mechanic from another game without recreating it from scratch. Elite dangerous has this and so do a few other games. Try doing that with out hitting copyright that a Modder doesn't have to worry about
ОтветитьMaking games at a AAA level often means that every feature would hvae to go through multiple processes / teams to get approved, implemented, and tested. This could go from game director's vision -> producers planning out the workflow to implement the vision -> game designers establishing the mechanics of the vision -> artists developing the visuals -> programmers implementing the mechanics -> QA testers making sure it's bug free -> etc. There is so much more steps that could need to be squeezed in.
This cycle can repeat indefinitely until they are satisfied with the quality, or to the point that their budget can handle it. And we're talking about just one feature here.
The larger the game, budget, and team: the more work it takes to create the game. This is the consequence of making AAA games. Expectations are high af; and will be subjected to much more scrutiny. (Which definitely leads to bloat and inefficiencies in the development cycle)
This is in opposition to modders, who people often think very fondly of (rightfully so! Modders are great!). The expectations are significantly lower, and will be scrutinized much less for any small issues. They don't have to go through large teams to implement what they want.
It's sad to see your comments here saying "it's rare to see that level of passion in devs nowadays" when all the devs I've met are sone of the most passionate people I've met! They're all devoted to their craft. But we're subjected often to the whims of the shareholders and executive producers, leading to terrible working conditions with year long crunch times and long ass work days. Please direct your complaints to those leeches instead, thank you!
"Everyone biggest issue" realy? No. Not even close. That's only few crybabies who wish Starfield would be No Mans Sky 2. This is not another space sim. Get over it and focus on real issues
ОтветитьSimple answer the modder didn’t need to try and make it work on the series s. and flying planet to planet makes no sense, it takes so long and draws you away from the game flow stop the blind bethesda hate it’s literally free pass and is a good game

ОтветитьThe entire solar system functions like a solar system the only mechanic that we don't have is a gravity mechanic. If you fly towards a planet in vanilla at top speed like Pluto for instance it will actually get further away from you because it's orbital velocity is faster than your ship.
It seems like at some point they developed the game for in system travel like this but then abandoned it in favor of fast travel... I was very happy to find out that I wasn't just flying in a skybox above a picture of a planet one day.
Some people (like me) hate traveling In games. I'm going to hold w wow what fun.

ОтветитьBecause once the novelty of flying planet to planet wears off spending 5 mins going in a straight line will get boring and you'll fast travel anyway

ОтветитьBecause it's Bethesda are you new? They've kind of been doing this since forever. You either play the game the way it is or you mod it either way quit hating on a developer that has given all of us thousands of hours of insanely fun game play.
