That was his backup singer Zarina on the piano. I think she recently got married, if I'm not mistaken. Dimash himself is single. This song has a very sad backstory, and it's quite an emotional experience for him to perform it. It's one of my favorites, and it means a lot to me on a personal level.

The lyrics to Qaragym Ai are very deep. The composer and the subject of the song passed away. Did you notice that the female piano player disappeared in the video to represent that life is short and the ones left behind are left to try to carry on.

THE STORY OF ONE SONG.
("dImash Kagym-ai DIMASH Karagimay")
More than 25 years ago, poet Shomishpai Sariev wrote
the lyrics of the song "Kagym-ai". He wanted to dedicate the song
to his daughter, who was getting married. The father put into
the text his feelings and thoughts about how
his daughter's life will turn out with her chosen one, what
awaits her ahead. He shared with his daughter about the meaning of life. The poet
wrote that the most important meaning of life is Love.
A life lived without Love is empty. All the wealth
accumulated over a lifetime is not worth even one day
spent in Love.
The poet asked his friend the famous composer
Kenesa Duisekeyeva to write music. The composer
writes music for the song, remembers his only
sister, who, before she got married, died at
the age of 19. She imagines how
her father would feel if he married her off.
Therefore, the song turned out not only about the poet's daughter,
who is getting married, but about the composer's sister,
Ra,
who did not live to see her wedding. There is sadness in the song
, sadness from a failed love.
Dimash performed the song "Kagym-ai" in his
interpretation at the concert dedicated to the 70th anniversary
of the composer in January 2016. The composer really
liked the performance of Dimash, he applauded
"Bravo!!"

No, he is not married but I can only imagine being married to someone who is as talented as Dimash. He sings constantly whatever he is doing so it would be a house filled with music and respect. He loves children and they love him so whoever snags him is going to be a very lucky woman. This song is incredibly beautiful. If you have not done A Thousand Miles, A Common Dream which he did in Mandarin right before this horrid pandemic, please do. It is so beautiful.

This song was composed by Dimash’s professor of Composition who died of Covid in July 2020, so he now sings this song so emotionally in tribute to his beloved professor….He sang the song for his professor’s 70th birthday 6 years ago, he sang it very differently to the way he sings it, now that his friend has passed away. He now pours his heartfelt grief into this song, in memory of his friend.

No visa, unfortunately. He’s here on Earth now. I’m traveling from Dallas, Texas, April 2022, to Prague simply to see Dimash perform live. I’ve never been “star-struck” by anyone, but seeing Dimash perform in person is a must.

A couple of things. First, Dimash fills & enriches your soul - he touches it deeply, he does not steal it, LOL. Know what ya mean, though. Also, that you respond to him at this depth is a good indication you're deeply in touch with your soul. Dimash sings from there. Those reacting with mental analysis of his techniques or range or whatever - not so well connected. So kudos.

I'm with you in that depth of response, too. I crossed to a new level this week when the tears began to flow on just seeing his image in a thumbnail. OMG, ya know? He truly lifts & inspires us, takes us higher. He's a true blessing to our earth.
