Remove the US from hosting world cup games and share them between Canada and Mexico.
ОтветитьPersonally, I actually really like the idea of the new Club World Cup. In it's previous iteration it was a bit crap and no-one (outside of maybe South America) really cared about it, but making it more like an actual World Cup but with club teams sounds like a really cool idea. I think once it kicks off, peoples attitude towards it might change. It'll be an 'event'.
However, the way FIFA have gone about setting it up suggests they care more about filling it with glamorous 'prestige' teams and players rather than the competition itself. It feels like they're just inviting teams they like to it, rather than setting up some kind of merit-based qualification method. That might be OK for the very first tournament, but if they want it to be taken seriously going forward, they need to figure out some kind of co-efficient qualification system for teams to get there on merit instead of by invite.
I also don't buy into the complaint that it's bad that players are having to play more games. At the end of the day, this new format will take place every 4 years, whoever gets to the final is only going to play a maximum of 7 games, and it is only going to affect the biggest teams like Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool etc.
Let's not forget that at the start of this season, Chelsea had SO MANY players in their squad, they literally couldn't register them all! I don't have much sympathy for teams of that size. I'm sure they'll manage. Might actually give them an excuse to give their youngster a run out.
Besides....look at Man United! The season's only just finished and they've already buggered off to Asia for a 'post-season' tour!
It just means that clubs are gonna have to buy MORE players, bigger squad, a rotation player can technically become a starter cuz of how many games he gets
ОтветитьIf I was a manager, I'd just send the b-team.. fuck corrupt fifa infantile-bellend-ino
ОтветитьNobody cares about that made up tournament. Season is over. Next one starts in August. CWC is trash and means nothing to real teams.
ОтветитьFootball is South America and Europe. Period. If you want to be more specific Football is Brazil, Germany, Italy, Argentina. Everyone else, comes after. It should be a South America x European clubs competition.
ОтветитьIdk I’m just gay😊
ОтветитьSee I understbd the concerns, but i really think a lot of people are blowing this WAY out of proportion. EU teams have the least benefit from this and can easily play a rotated squad for many matches in the tournament. For teams and players outside of Europe, this is the chance of a lifetime. Imagine a player from Auckland City over-performs and the club get out of the group stage. Not only does the club itself receive more prize money than they’ve ever gotten, but the player can get a life changing transfer as well. This is only a problem for the biggest clubs and, despite their complaints, they have more than enough resources to learn how to cope with the additional 7 games on the schedule
Ответитьwhat's great about this tournament is that it'll eliminate most of the ignorant presumptions in the football world, e.g the "South African right back" will actually show you he's amongst the best.
ОтветитьFNG They need to cut down the number of matches. I would rather the FIFA Club World Cup be in the old format in December. The FIFA Nations World Cup should be 32 nations played every 4 years only in June and July. If UEFA Champions League was knockout only with the same amount of clubs as the 2023-24 season and it being names UEFA European Cup. The UEFA Europa League should be knockout only and renames UEFA Cup as it used to be. I would scrap the UEFA Conference league and bring back the UEFA Cup Winner's Cup. All UEFA matches should be knockout only that would reduce games.
Ответитьif I'm an EPL team that is qualified for CWC I will put my carabao cup team to play until maybe the finals if we even get there.
ОтветитьNgl this is going to take away from the women’s WC and Euros hype.
ОтветитьTeams should just play their second string players giving first team players a rest 🤷🏽♂️
ОтветитьFor every club, just play the booty and academy guys. The competition happens and the plates that have been playing in the regular season still get a break.
ОтветитьBeing payed millions to play a children's game, I say that they don't have enough games.
ОтветитьSomeone needs to fire this FIFA clown ASAP
ОтветитьClueless rugby fan here, very well put video 🤝🏾 Do you think it’s possible the bigger teams would send maybe an “A side” whilst not directly calling them an A side, the bigger stars would be missing. Again, clueless rugby fan. But this idea does sound good for the casual fan like me. I’ll definitely be tuning in regardless
Ответитьthe players and clubs want it
Ответитьidk if there are any South Africans here but i can confidently say that mamelodi sundowns rb Khuliso mudau can pocket vini right now. He has already pocketed Ademola Lookman at Afcon
ОтветитьEveryone should remember this video if this guy ever makes a vid about the disgusting wages these guys get
In a week they earn as much as most working class people make in a ten year period, are footballers 552 times more valuable than a worker actually providing value to the world through services, construction, health care etc.
Of course they don't, they provide less value not more
So boo hoo, a footballer is set for life after about 20 weeks wages anything after that he may earn is a gift from us who pay their wages through tickets, merch, TV subs etc.
dont forget about african players like hakimi who also have afcon to play in december
ОтветитьHi Niran. I'm your UNCLE. Get a new chair son. Thanks.
ОтветитьCash grab
ОтветитьEhh...Mamelodi Sundowns taking stray shots, Up the "Bucs", But I am with "Downs" for this one, I hope they win it for South Africa.
ОтветитьIt's brilliant that Man City and Chelsea are participating in this s*itshow! 😂
Goid luck lads! 👍😉
All the jazz aside do people even know what the trophy represents & how much of occultism is at play here? Its more than ever but barely anyone will understand it
ОтветитьThe club world cup's schedule is also the same with the FIFA world cup. I don't understand your take on this apart from the fact that its a new competition. Its either you're a Barca fan or just some random fan complaining about the competition
ОтветитьThese guys get paid hundreds of thousands a week and yes worst case scenario they will have 4-6 weeks off a year, just like most people. And they can retire at the age of 30 if they have been playing high level football in their 20’s. I personally don’t see the issue with this, if they are getting valid rest time between training and matches, because it seems like it works out that the get the same time off or annual leave as the average UK worker, albeit they don’t get to pick and choose when they take that leave, but I would take that if it meant getting paid 100k a week. Sometimes we do need to put things into perspective, I love watching football for the spectacle, and they are extremely good at what they do and in turn they earn a lot of money doing what they do, so yes if they have to play 4 matches in 15 days and travel 9k miles in between so be it, that’s why they get paid the big money.
ОтветитьTop players need to go on strike. Simple as that. The game gets taken for granted when there’s a game on every day of the year. I used to miss Futbol a lot more in non confederation tournament years when leagues got 2.5 months off. These guys are not robots. Greed will eventually kill the game.
ОтветитьBrazilian teams used to play this at the end of the season. And it was always used as an excuse. "We lost to [Insert European team] because we were tired." Now the Europeans will be tired, but I don't know how good this handicap will be, because Brazilian football has fallen behind in recent years. Foreign Billionaires are buying Brazilian clubs now, but it may take 10 years to catch up to Europe.
ОтветитьI guess if you haven’t been invited to the ball, you’ll hate it
ОтветитьIt’s a stupid idea. These are the same people who are yelping about player welfare and they are now doing this?
ОтветитьThe old format worked fine. It should have stayed how it was. Every year with the winners of the top tier regional tournaments (UCL etc.) for a total of 8 teams made it credible without being over the top. They could have even played CWC instead of a couple of friendlies pre-season. Instead it’s just gonna become an injury farm that doesn’t even have many of the current best teams from a region (Barca are a good example).
ОтветитьFrom a person that's Supporting Esperance Tunisia, this is actually huge for us and thousands have already booked tickets to watch it live in the US. Other than that, I completely agree with you. We're going to see a lot of bench warmers coming up for big teams and we might only see the main squads starting from the round of 8
ОтветитьThese teams can afford to have larger rosters. Just rotate more. Most of these big Europe teams have a bunch of guys making hundreds of thousands of pounds a month and barely feature for them. Like I understand the injuries are a problem, but the team physios, directors of football and managers can easily reduce the risks by proper planning, but managers would rather stick to only playing 16-17 guys instead of utilizing the whole roster.
ОтветитьUse the players who are in the first time squad who hardly played during the season with a few fringe team players
ОтветитьWell tbf it only happens like 4 times a year it’s sort of like the euros and world cup
Ответить1. Why would we see teams play weaker lineups? Did we see England play a weakened lineup against Tunisia in the World Cup? (and over half their players play for Esperance, who are in this competition).
2. FIFA doesn't have a duty to "protect their players". They have a duty to grow the game on a global level. The more money FIFA makes, the more talented footballers we will see coming up from poorer countries.
3. This notion of "there'll be no more players left" is laughable. Considering that 99% of senior academy players will never make a professional appearance, I think there will be more than enough players to last us for centuries.
4. All these clubs have played a crazy number of games this season. Not just European and South American clubs. Mamelodi Sundowns just played the final of the CAF Champions League, which was their 60th game of the season. Before the final, they'd literally play a game every 3-4 days.
5. "Player welfare" is a myth. Players complaining about too many games are Man City players, PSG players, Liverpool players, players that are way too privileged and quite frankly don't need the money and/or exposure. African players laugh at European players crying about that, they play the same number of games as you, if not more, but you'd never hear an Al Ahly player in Egypt or Wydad AC player in Morocco complain about playing 50 club games in a year and an addiotional 10+ national team games.
6. The Copa Libertadores is the most important trophy in South America, the CAF Champions League is the highest honour in Africa, the AFC Asian Champions League Elite is the biggest competition in Asia. All these competitions have massive followings on their respective continents and draw in hundreds of millions on viewers. This competition combines all of those competitions. So to say "nobody wants to see a team from X play against a team from Y" is inaccurate, and honestly just shows that Europeans are living under a rock. And it's not even all of Europe.
First time viewer. Great video 👍 defo a fair point about the replays. It's all about that hefty prize money aint it? That's what it's all about for clubs now. The fan era is dying out fast
ОтветитьThe players at Seattle Sounders, my local club, aren't being adequately compensated for this tournament. FIFA gave the appearance money to MLS, and then MLS pocketed 100% of the money. They wore "FIFA Club Cash Grab" t-shirts in warmups of the last match.
Ответитьlook at me solving what you think is a problem, teams are allowed to register up to 25 players per season and they are allowed to use players registered under the reserve teams and youth teams on top of those 25 players registered on the main team.
its really a problem of player overuse and mismanagement of players by their teams/managers rather than the amount of games, the players are there, they are allowed to be used, so teams can make rotation of players by playing different players under different competitions/circumstances, so technically the solution as always been there.
Nah. The extra champions league and nations league and other extra matches that have been added are the problem. Actually making the CWC a legitimate competition that gives clubs across the world a real chance to compete with the top European clubs for a major trophy and major prize pool that comes with it is a very good thing for the sport long term. Much like expanding the World Cup has improved the quality of football in many nations now that they have real shots at making it and young people are motivated to play the sport, the expanded CWC will have similar effects.
ОтветитьThe obvious solution is to make all football matches 7-a-side and just 30 minutes long
ОтветитьI think there should be a definitive world championship for clubs. But it should just be an annual six team competition. Like what they had previously but minus the idea of a host.
All this time and money spent creating and promoting this unreasonable schedule bloat should have gone into making this small tournament a huge deal.
There was nothing wrong with the format it's time the players made a stand.
ОтветитьThis could be a chance for the bench to shine while regular starters get some rest.
ОтветитьSundowns desperately need coach Rhulani, PERIOD!!!
Ответить
