Why you laughing andreaaaa

ОтветитьMy best scene in the film (Stuff!). Miranda took her to school!.
ОтветитьI remember as a young girl I thought Miranda was a very mean boss. Growing up, yeah, we don't go to work to make friends and we don't need to be friends. Plus Andy could have just quit if she wanted. She didn't have to be there acting all so mighty 😂😂😂
ОтветитьYou think your sweater just fell out of a coconut tree? It exists within the context of all in which it lives and what came before
ОтветитьA pile of skulls
ОтветитьI'd get this for any other color, but who looks at the color blue and thinks "I can't pull this off?" Blue is quite literally the most flattering and basic shade in the entire industry. Denim is blue, denim is iconic. Not a coincidence since people love buying it BECAUSE it looks good on them. I would argue fashion has been shaped by blue. It's been a staple for so long. Right execution, wrong idea. Even if that azure blue launch didn't happen, Andi would've still had a ton of blue sweaters to feel warm in.
ОтветитьThis scene raised me as a creative in NYC…I vowed never to have a client tell me I wasn’t ready
ОтветитьMeryl Streep was created for this role. 🤩 Or was this role cteated for Meryl Streep? Either way, she killed it! 🔥😌
ОтветитьI’m curious if the “trickle down economy” by Miranda applies to pop culture as well.
ОтветитьIn fact , your dealing with your ____ , selected for you, from a pile of stuff✌️✌️💪💪
ОтветитьYesssss
ОтветитьAndy was lucky she wasn’t fired on the spot after that.
ОтветитьThis said, I never understood what the genius of Anna Wintour consisted in (and she looks dressed in curtains more often than not).
ОтветитьI ADORE Meryl in this film. From the way she enunciates her words to the intentional pauses for breath, to the way she delivers her lines in the most syrupy yet maliciously condescending tone…chef’s kiss! 🎉
ОтветитьI just noticed that the jacket floral print looks like some of those red floral gowns Anna wears.
Ответитьte dije que mi otra cara no te iva a gustar
Ответитьnow i’m thinking of miranda priestlys monologue about cerulean from devil wears prada 😂
ОтветитьFor Andy to say those belts look exactly the same. Come on!!!
I have no fashion sense and the small details make those belts different!
This was about the same amount of time
ОтветитьThat scoff wasn’t just disrespectful towards Miranda but everyone in that room. These people started at the bottom just like her. Maybe went to school and thousands of dollars in debt for their jobs. She’s so disrespectful and as I get older, I see why Miranda told her off.
ОтветитьTo many people this would be just another incident of Miranda being mean, but it’s actually a testament to the pride and passion Miranda has for what she does and the realm you work.
This would be the equivalent of someone sitting in on a surgery laughing and mocking the process simply because you think it has no impact on you!
Uuuuuuuh, that's just not true? The color being selected is stupid. If the style was selected, then maybe.
ОтветитьNowadays, this monologue is forbiden because floppy Cristal's Generation souls can't resist it.
ОтветитьWhat if they put a jacket in the same shade as the belt
ОтветитьI think something really underrated about this scene is how the person in charge of the props for this scene managed to choose two belts that are different enough for someone that cares about fashion to say "yes, the belts are actually quite different" but at the same time similar enough for a person that doesn't care about fashion to say "those two belts are the same, who cares??".
ОтветитьThis… stuff?
Oh, okay, I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select, I don’t know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you’re trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back but what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue. It’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis, it’s actually cerulean. You’re also blithely unaware of the fact that, in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent wasn’t it, who showed cerulean military jackets? I think we need a jacket here. And then, cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. And then it filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic Casual Corner where you, no doubt, fished it up of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and it’s sort of comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you’re wearing a sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room… from a pile of stuff.
Nigel‘s like “oh gosh, here we go.” Ha ha.
ОтветитьLove this movie and looking forward to the sequel that they have been talking about. Hopefully it’s just as good because usually sequels aren’t up to the same level.
ОтветитьI don’t blame her for giving Andy a hard time. “Stuff” is not a word I say often because I never liked it. Unless it is used for an appropriate reason. Otherwise it sounds uneducated and tired.
ОтветитьI was reading about a fashion designer talking about this scene and saying that what she said was true.
I kind of understand why fashion industry would think like this to prove their self worth.
The funny thing is it doesn't matter. As if to say Cerulean was not "created" (and I use that word lightly) by a fashion designer in 2002, people would have stopped wearing clothes.
Its not the same as Science, Maths, Finance, Economics or even Marketing. These things have moulded life and generations. Fashion and Art it depends upon individuals. Unless you want to launder money, give anything to an actor and it will become a fashion.
Clothes are needed to protect us from weather --- thats it, nothing more nothing less.
ОтветитьTo be fair, Andy shouldn’t have been laughing in a mocking manner when at work, they’re paying you to not only be professional at your job but also you need to be respectful for the place you’re working at.
ОтветитьWell, the belts do look the same…
ОтветитьYou don't need to raise your voice when you have a presence, Presence will net you way more intimidation, then raising your voice ever will
ОтветитьCmmon aunty entertain MOM AND DADS!. 😡 WITHOUT STRINGS ATTACHED. united colors it's beautiful. And tell them thats nit their skin 😡.
Ответить
ОтветитьI’m definitely no fashionista at all, but like that belt did not match that dress at all
ОтветитьThe first time I watched this I was a kid and I was like 'what is she on about' with this scene. Like I totally sided with Anne Hathaway's character, this was all absurd to me. As an adult that is into fashion now, it's INSANE how accurate Miranda was. Literally every choice we think we make when buying, has been very specifically selected for us, we only have an illusion of freedom. She is completely right. You can trace any random piece at a cheap store to a specific trend set by a particular haute couture show. It's actually ominous and I love it.
ОтветитьI want to see the real character
The previous editor in chief of vouge magazine
Was she behaving similarly
If you analyse Miranda's character really closely, you realise that she's so intimidating because she's actually miserable. She's always unhappy, bored, exasperated, and annoyed, which gives her plenty of depth as a character. Meryl Streep obviously put a lot of thought into this role. Miranda's entire backstory and life experience are written on her face and her expressions. All the divorces, feeling lonely at the top, feeling unsatisfied with her workers, etc. ...
Ответитьreklama
ОтветитьThe way Emily emerges in the background 😂
ОтветитьAs teenagers, we related to Andy. As adults, we relate to Miranda.
ОтветитьHow did Andy even get this job?!
Ответитьblithely unaware 😂
ОтветитьThis was shortly before Vogue became completely political, fashion 2nd or 3rd.
ОтветитьI like that it isn't just miranda but everyone in the room is offended by her dismissive laugh and "stuff" line. She works in fashion now, and they all take this seriously, and they rightfully expect her to do the same.
ОтветитьOne of the best bits of Hollywood screen-writing and delivery ever. Andy was so out of order sniggering, and Miranda taught her an important lesson in a way that was polite, yet with a force so devastating that Andy will never forget it. I mentor many young people, and there are times when I try to emulate this sort of delivery when faced with someone who "thinks they know better" than an old hand with 40 years' experience.
