YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CANT HIDE
ОтветитьTaiping would be a better choice for retirement. Food and housing is much reasonable than Ipoh.
Ответитьif security is managed properly, Ipoh is a nice place to retire. near airport.
ОтветитьIpoh? I thought Penang was a slow city.😁 My HK born wife likes Ipoh because everyone speaks Cantonese.😂 We like KL because of all the airconditioned malls and restaurants. The people were really nice and the food was great.
ОтветитьFyi, there are 4 giant cement plants located in Ipoh. Check carefully the location on the choice of your home before your health is affected. The air in the surrounding vicinity is heavily-laced with fine cement dust carried by the wind. Do not buy/rent a property facing west. Ipoh can be sizzling hot, most times of the year as the city is in a valley called the Kinta Valley. Do not get a property where you have to drive/ride/cycle through a long, lonely, unlit stretch of road/lane. There are groups of desperados on motorbikes that will waylay you for money and whatever else. Their modus operandi is to set up a fake motorbike accident in the middle of the lonely stretch of road (in Ipoh!). You are forced to stop. Then they pounce on you. What happens next, I leave it to you to discover for yourself if you ignore this advice. Never buy a property until you have lived in it for one full year. Discover and experience all the unknowns/unforseen factors first. Always rent first. Pay a bit more initially so as not to regret longterm. Other than all these, Ipoh is a great place. A food paradise. Lower cost of living than in KL, Penang or JB. I recommend it.
ОтветитьA few years ago, while waiting at the bus station, I overheard some Ipoh boys talking about why KL is not for people to stay: the scenery is not beautiful and the air is bad. 😂
ОтветитьSubscribed to your program after watching and obtaining valuable information from you. Thanks.
ОтветитьIpoh is ny fav city. My wife and I have been visiting Ipoh before the pandemic until some of our friends thought our family is from Perak 😅 Definitely #1 place to retire and take lufe easy
ОтветитьIs the water quality better in IPOH? because their complexion is so much better. I think we are drinking toxic river water in KL from the tap.
ОтветитьI prefer Penang mainland for retirement.
ОтветитьI visited Ipoh early 2024 and TBH it was one of the most boring places I’ve visited.
Too slow Too boring and DULL.
I was born in Ipoh, studied in Ipoh but I migrated to KL to work. I retired last year but I did not go back to Ipoh because I have already settled down in Selangor & bought my house here. Because Ipoh is so quiet because youngsters leave Ipoh to earn a living in the big city.
ОтветитьThe best place to live and retire is Kuching, Sarawak.
Come to Kuching where people live in harmony and in peace.
Blessings 🕊️🕊️🕊️
Hi just discovered your channel.. Thanks for sharing the information..👍
ОтветитьCome to Kuching. The best place for retirement!
ОтветитьWhich malaysian city has nice beach & cool weather at the same time ?
If that is possible in a tropical country🙏
Which malaysian city has nice beach & cool weather at the same time ?
If that is possible in a tropical country🙏
Retirement means waiting to die sooner. So, wherever is just as good and needs not to be choosy!
ОтветитьHI Fran, just saw your video. I was orignally fr Kampar and studied 1 year in ACS Ipoh. For few decades was living in KL due to career reasons. Ipoh looks much better than KL if you hate traffic jams and difficulty of getting car parks, which I do. I have "migrated" to China since Jan 2023. to a place called Qingyuan in Guangdong. its a 3rd tier city in China. There are no heavy industries allowed here and the air is very good. PLenty of huuuge public gardens next to huge rivers or with a huge lake. No traffic jams and parking problems. Housing is very very cheap compared to KL. About MYR350 to 400 per sq ft can get you a nice apartment at a location next to a huge public garden with lake. I drove to Guangzhou few times, about 1 hour 15 min to the very center of Gzhou if I need more excitement. The roads and highways are superbly maintained and of high quality, no such things as potholes like in KL. The education here is very fast paced and maybe many may not like it, but my wife loves it. after kinde school which finishes at 5.00pm, my wife still get my 4 year old son to do 1 hour online classes, and he goes to 2 dance classes a week nearby (just walk there or by e-bike), and practice every day. My son now enjoys both the online classes and dance classes and daily practices. As a Malaysian, (my wife is China Chinese), I can now understand why China progress so much faster due to the efforts put in. Not necc suitable for everyone.
ОтветитьAgreed ipoh is a nice place for holidays and retirement.. So are other places in Malaysia. All depends on what you're looking for for your retirement.
ОтветитьAs long as you got lots of £$€.. Any where you retire is a good place in Malaysia
ОтветитьThere’s no place to go to in Ipoh. Except Concubine street and Lost World. Of course you can go outside Ipoh to Cameron Highlands, Kampar, Gopeng, and Taiping for day trips to natural places of interests. Restaurant food is good in Ipoh but street food is better in Penang.
ОтветитьPg best. Best healthcare facilities >10 private hospitals + few public ones for aging, in addition to reasonable convenient foods, airport, train, free city buses and parks. Life are more of cosmopolitan, any culture and race.😊
ОтветитьMalaka is nice too
ОтветитьFinancial Independence! Travel n leisure
ОтветитьIpoh is a lot cheaper for retirees and for food compared to Penang or KL. I was born in Ipoh.
ОтветитьWOW, I'M IMPRESSED.FROM IPOH TOO
ОтветитьTo put it straight , Penang has been repeatedly named one of the top destinations to retire in the world. It truly has so much to offer ( international standards) to receive such accolades.
Penang is also about convenience. Just imagine - you can be in Penang Hill at 7.30am to enjoy its cold morning air with the mysterious mist and its panoramic view of the city.
An hour later , you can be walking along the beach to enjoy the morning sea breeze.
And at another hour later you can find yourself in the heritage zone helping your foreign friends to take photos while enjoying the murals.
In between, you can just hop in and hop out of the wide spread of eateries that can be easily spotted in every nook and cranny literally, to sample your gastronomical delights .
Have u done the maths? Do u really think it's cheaper to retire in KL than sg?😊 seriously, do d math, start with medicals
ОтветитьHaiya..... as an Ipoh boy, I have mixed feelings about your video. You are right that Ipoh is a really good place to retire but as Ipoh gets moves popular it gets more crowded and less attractive as a retirement place. All the famous makan places always crowded
ОтветитьCorporatebreakout couple Good 👍 on your efforts introduce Ipoh. But I suggest that you all should introduce Perak attractive places because I realized that most Perak just only knew to introduce Perak foods and said that Perak don't have place to go. But it is very funny that Foreign tourists from Japan, China, Korea and America, already visited Perak attractive place. 当霹雳人说霹雳没有地方好玩但外国人却拍了不少霹雳美景及历史自然考古发掘地,这真的是非常丢脸及被打脸。😅
ОтветитьI love to retire in Ipoh. But how can I do it as a US citizen? Thank you
ОтветитьI couldn't agree more . Ipoh is terrific . Fortunately , my visits to Malaysia have all gone smoothly . However, I have just lost a tooth due to age . I hope to be in Malaysia quite soon . Is Ipoh a place with good dentists and reasonable costs ? Thanks .
ОтветитьIn high summer months, just jump into your car and drive to Cameron Highlands ! I plan to visit Ipoh next year. Thanks !
ОтветитьWhat about medical care?
ОтветитьHope u can make videos on smaller towns in perak states such as kampar, taiping, batu gajah, setiawan, sungai siput, gopeng etc. for retirement. I live in ipoh for 55yrs now, ipoh no longer the quiet n peaceful n cheap ipoh it used to be. In recent yrs I start thinking of moving to smaller town in perak states for more peaceful, quiet, serene life, more fresh air, less ppl n less traffic, less havoc type of life. Nowadays ipoh is packed with ppl n cars, becoming a more n more complicated n havoc place to live n enjoy life compare to ten twenty years or decades ago. Perak is very big, i beleve there are many potential smaller towns we retirees can move to n enjoy our/their lives.
Ответитьwhy not kelantan? lol
ОтветитьAll of the wonderful advantages of staying in a beautiful southeast Asian country do not matter if a foreigner cannot afford to stay in country longterm.
Malaysia is VERY expensive. Their “MM2H retirement visa” bank deposit requires a minimum of US$32,000 (RM151,000).
Thailand is not much better. They require a deposit of 800,000 Thai baht to be placed into a Thai bank which is US$24,000.
The Philippine “SSRV retirement visa” requires a Filipino bank deposit of US$10,000 or $20,000 depending upon your age.
Cambodia 1-year, multiple-entry “ER retirement visa” is ONLY US$290. and is renewable yearly. No bank account needed. No deposit needed. You will never be required to leave the country.
Penang is very generous with boric acid in their seafood and monosodium glutamate in almost all dishes. A compliment from a Penangite.
ОтветитьAiyoh Ipoh is my favourite hideout always 😂hope it will not be overcrowded after your video😢
ОтветитьIt's doesn't matter which part of Malaysia you are retiring. I am retired in Sungai Petani (my hometown)! SP is cheaper than Ipoh, Penang and Kuala Lumpur! Malaysia is well connected with highway so It's doesn't matter where you are!
ОтветитьIpoh better than Penang ??? Many will disagree with you.
ОтветитьVisited Ipoh...dirty broken streets, garbage everywhere, dilapidated buildings...then went to Georgetown. Total opposite. Can't beat facts as seen with my own eyes.
ОтветитьIpoh so boring not much activity.
ОтветитьWhere do you live?
ОтветитьFor retirement the best place is Taiping ,the one and only you can't beat that
Ответитьwhat's your opinion about Kuantan compared to Ipoh
ОтветитьI'm from Ipoh but working in near Kuantan, Pahang and has siblings staying in KL/Selangor. As someone from Ipoh, we're used to slow traffic, courteous driver, less traffic jam, slower pace of life... For me, KL is just a weekend get away to meet siblings, to eat and some window shopping or to go to nearby premium outlets. Can't stand too long staying in KL 😅 as for Penang, I can't stand their way of "driving". Also penang only for street food, I mean for weekend get away too from Ipoh. Ipoh has plenty of land which makes for affordable housing especially landed properties. You can get a double storey terraced house for less than RM500k depending on house size. Ipoh also is getting more developed with Sunway making their construction of Sunway shopping mall, condo and with their recently newly operated Sunway Medical Center and also the water theme park Lost World of Tambun. Also things are cheaper in Ipoh which I always waited to go back Ipoh only to get those services like getting a hair cut, dental checkup, etc. There is peace of mind that the price charged will not be exorbitant compared to KL, etc. For me, most probably might retire in Ipoh since I'm from there 😅
ОтветитьThank you for promoting Ipoh, the town that is fortunately or unfortunately (depending on how you look at it) located between KL to the south and Penang to the north. I am of course Ipoh born and raised and schooled. You can take me out of Ipoh but you can never take Ipoh out of me. When I first started working years ago, people called me "a kampung" girl.
ОтветитьThank you for watching! Let us know in the comments below if you too are considering Ipoh as your potential retirement place. Do share other retirement options with us as well!
