Quite pleasant to see a cute dog ;)
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьThat good pup was indeed a pleasant surprise ☺️❤️❤️
ОтветитьThe issue for me is less about boredom, I think, and more about ability to just maintain focus. On YT, I skip around aspirationally - I want to watch a bunch of videos, and start a bunch of them so I have them in my history, sort of like a bookmark. But then the problem is, I am never able to actually finish any of them because I keep starting new ones too quickly.
ОтветитьDog
ОтветитьI'm wondering how many of those student who were too inattentive to qualify for a study of inattentiveness actually have undiagnosed ADD. My daughter has ADD and I could see this happening to her.
ОтветитьOkay, you saying "dont skip it" makes me wanna skip it even more. ;_;. Like I've spent 30 sec writting this comment, and now I'll have to rewind 30 sec just so that i can re-watch it.
ОтветитьAmazing video, i used to turn off my phone when watching movies, its a richer experience
ОтветитьWhatever, the reason for skipping around videos is because there's so many good ones to watch and not enough hours in the day. Not because they're boring. There's an increadible amount of good educational and interesting content! Surprised that watching stuff at 2x speed wasn't mentioned for even greater efficiency. If you're not doing that, you're literally a dumber and less educated, less informed person since you're wasting time on irrelavent parts of a video that don't provide useful information.
ОтветитьBored squared enough to click to address curiosity and pathological demamd avoidence
ОтветитьI'd love to hear a conversation between you and Peter Etchells - he talked at length on The Dissenter podcast about how many of the studies into screen time, social media and attention are flawed. He talked a convincing talk but I'm not sure if he's just being contrarian and bathing in the light which that gives, or if he's a serious unbiased researcher.
Ответитьgreat video
ОтветитьDOGGY!!!😊
ОтветитьWatching at 0.25x speed to prove a point.
ОтветитьI have the rule that I'll never skip forward in a video, I mean I can close the tab I look for something else but never skip forward unless I've already watche it before.
ОтветитьKinda sad how proud I am for having watch this in full, without distraction. Thanks for the suprise as a reward !
ОтветитьIf i dont keep scrolling i might get bored and start snorting tide pods
ОтветитьYour dog looks lovely ❤
ОтветитьScrolling to comments while video is playing also does the same thing. Just like I did here. These social media companies are here to addict our brains and make advertisement money out of it. Scary 😟
ОтветитьIt’s Like a taunt video(but reality)
ОтветитьI watched the whole thing fully focused on the video. I feel robbed, to be honest. The study didn't really conclude anything worthwhile, and the end conclusion was that you should do things the way you like doing things because we're all different. You tricked me by making this video a challenge, maybe not consciously, but that's how my brain works.
ОтветитьI don't actually feel bored, my mind just starts to wander. But I grew up when home computers were still the very expensive exception and there was only one television channel, so it wouldn't be possible to blame those things. I am easily distracted and always have been. I don't however have a problem putting my phone down. Usually on weekends and in the evenings it is just left somewhere in the house. I don't feel compelled to keep it on me or check it regularly. Well into my 20s if I wanted information it required a visit to the library and I'd easily get sucked into spending the whole day there jumping from one interesting thing to the next.
The fact that multitasking is generally bad just makes me once again shake my head when I see the typical office environment. They're designed to maximise distractions and task switching.
As other people have mentioned I sometimes find that speeding up a video allows me to still understand and because the duration is shorter I can get through more of it before my minds wanders off.
Such a stupid piece of advice. If we stopped scrolling you will not get paid :)
Ответитьcan confirm when i have a pre selected video to watch with my lounch break i feel way better and less bkred than just looking around for a good video. Sometimes i even rewatch videos that i know are good
ОтветитьI watched the entirety of this video...in 2x speed. Not quite sure what that says about me.
Ответитьyeah, doing it right now, god damn it !
ОтветитьI want information and I want it fast!!!
ОтветитьThe problem is that a lot of videos are crap or not interesting to me exactly. So how do I not skip if most of the videos will not have a value for me? But I can't know if they have value or not before I watch them. This especially problematic with educational videos, where it is hard to find valuable information related to tasks I want to get done.
ОтветитьQuick feedback. I was watching a hilarious long video before finding this video, and before that was doom scrolling. By long I mean 30ish minutes. I’d pause it and talk and laugh about what was said. Stayed on the same video the whole time.
That video 100% primed me to stay tuned for this whole video, especially because the thumbnail looked as if it was pertaining to an issue I’ve recently developed which is scrolling.
Does it also talk about watching things at faster pace
ОтветитьI shoulda skipped around and 2 speeded this video.
ОтветитьThree minutes in. I'm leaving.
ОтветитьBoring video
ОтветитьIf I hadn't scrolled I wouldn't have found this video 😅
Ответитьand.. the video you made is less than 10 minutes
ОтветитьI guess I do need you tube premium cuz I be enjoying a long video about something like math or etymology but an add just rolls through at pivotal moments to detail everything
ОтветитьSure, I get what uh you were uh just a min I’ll be right ..,
ОтветитьThat was the best suprise ever. I even closed the video and opened it back up to say that
ОтветитьI've always known this but stopping is hard.
Consumption can never really bring lasting happiness for humans because our dopamine resets so fast.
No food will satiate you forever.
No sex will ever make you stop craving sex.
No movie will ever make you stop watching movies.
Nothing you buy will make you not want to buy more stuff....
Yet here I am still mindlessly scrolling.
Ooh the irony…
ОтветитьI am at optimal concentration first thing in the morning. By mid-morning, it has dropped quite a bit. I do need to work on sticking with one task until completion because I have so many things now that need to be done! haha... good video, thank you.
Ответитьbusted
ОтветитьThis video was a little pointless. I hate social media.
ОтветитьI would like to see the video completed views stats on this one.
ОтветитьThis brings me back to childhood arguments about "channel-surfing," and I feel vindicated that my no-surfing preference is Scientifically Approved*.
