Why the amaran 300c / 150c is the BEST first video light

QQ: Can you let me know if the Sidus link will let me choose Rosco Gels on this lights?
I recently needed Gels -> the MT pro will let me choose Gels while the Pixel tubes wont. And even with the same settings it does not match the Gel Look.

I got the 150c the othrr day but debating on returning for the 300

this was amazing and very informative, thanks!

But the 150c has a SSId rating far below the 200X S which is around the same price but more wattage, AND way way better rating against tungsten sources, unmatched by anything out there other than the new Storm BLAIR based lights.

Mark, I watched most of your videos about COB lights. Very informative and detailed. Your videos pretty much helped me get over all understanding of what's available and what are best brands out there. I am planning to start building my Video Lighting equipment starting with a 300 W RGB COB . ( finally I need : 2 X 300 W, 2 X On Camera Panel Lights , Modifiers etc ) . Currently, I am unable to decide which brand I want to stick with either Amaran OR Godox/ Litemon . From what i gather so far is that Godox/Litemon offers best value and it is rapidly growing their product line of lights and modifiers. BUT its app is not as good as Amaran Sidus Mesh. Where as Amaran - not offering newer products as fast as Godox , generally expensive than Godox/Litemon but APP has more range and is more stable. I really appreciate your suggestion. My final ask is : Godox/Litemon OR Amaran?

its not soley about brightness. modifiers lower exposure. some times you need more power. same goes for high stop shots.

we need a video for all kind of modifiers and what are the best ones to get

I have 2x 100d + Fersnel lens + Barn doors, a 300c, Spotlight SE and Smallrig RA55, RA85 softbox and like all stuffs. All works fine... easy to use... and the Sidus link is also good option for controlling the lights.

Just bought a f21c can I use it as a key light?

Hi Mark. Thanks for the coupon code! However I tried using it about 11:00 pm est on 12/31 to purchase the 150c (first time) and it would not work for me. I tested it a day earlier (no purchase) and it worked then. Did they shut it down an hour early? Can you possibly extend it? Thanks for all your great videos.

Why get the 150c when the 200x is cheaper and brighter?

I’m on the edge of buying the 300! Just hate that you’ve got to buy a case and the v-mount adapter separately. First world problems 😅
