Leatherman crunch has vice grips
ОтветитьLove Van's videos. I want to be a hater on the multi tool suggestion so bad.. but also need to try to think back to when I didn't have all the tools. For the price, it does get a lot done. ..but, When I hear Leatherman I just cringe and envision a striped flathead screw. I guess just have an ego about right tool for the job now that I've built a legit tool collection.
ОтветитьI can also recommend getting torx bits, specifically 15,20,25 and 30. that and hex bits
ОтветитьIf you’re a casual diy’er, get Hercules or Bauer tools from Harbor Freight. People might give me shit but I don’t care. Entirely good enough tools with high quality batteries at descent prices. And they’re actually not cheap, but you just don’t pay for the ‘brand’ as you do for the ones mentioned here. For corded, buy whatever is available and decently priced, no brand loyalty needed there.
ОтветитьI got neither famous nor rich and just was left with saw dust everywhere in the backyard. ive also lost respect as I have ryobi power tools.
ОтветитьPlease, more videos like this!
ОтветитьI watched this two years ago and it made me think about building things, now my primary hobby it's to build furniture with hand tools with minimal power tools. Thank you Van!
ОтветитьGotta say, I disagree with the hate on flat heads. Each has its own practical application.
ОтветитьI love the aesthetic
ОтветитьVan is the older brother I didn’t know I needed.
ОтветитьFlathead screws are forbidden. You are my man!
ОтветитьVan is so much more interesting than his brother I can’t get enough of this guy😊
Ответитьthat NASA leatherman is absolute fire
ОтветитьNo Craftsman😢 I love Craftsman.
ОтветитьRobertson screws are superior, please don’t use Philips it seems to be just a weird reasonless preference here but they are not good. Roberson #2 please, thank you.
ОтветитьWhy did he write Kubrick is Dead on the tapes?
ОтветитьGood tools are expensive. A multimeter that would be ideal is 550 new. Probably can get it for 200 used maybe a worse one cheaper.
ОтветитьI don't have a lot of tools but I do have a pop rivet gun which I used to repair my aluminium ladder. I need to get the Dremmel 200 and/or SMALL angle grinder. I have a corded Bosch jigsaw like you do but you've convinced me to get a Japanese pull saw (yes, I think "AND"). :-) Thanks for the great video. Why didn't you recommend a hand drill guide, which I'm going to by asap? I don't have a drill press (but I have 3 hand drills) and I don't know how many times I need to drill perpendicular to the surface.
ОтветитьStart with a good electric drill. This is now YOUR brand. You’ll save money not needing to buy other electric batteries + chargers with new tools.
Ответить12 volts are cool until it’s time for tap cons
ОтветитьFlathead screws are evil. Phillips is better. Much better. But Torque (Torx) IS BEST. Once you get torx screws you never go back.
ОтветитьGo with bauer from harbor freight if you don’t care enough to get “contractor brand”
ОтветитьThe craftsman who does not know the value of a slotted screw is not truly experienced. The 18-volt impact driver stands up and is balanced. Your tools are for a decorator, not a builder.
ОтветитьGreat vid!
ОтветитьDon't get the 12V model of any tool. Get the 40V model. If you can't handle the extra weight you are a sissy.
ОтветитьNo
ОтветитьThe link is indeed not right there...
ОтветитьIf you don't think multi-tools don't have vise grips, then you ain't used no Leatherman Crunch. Or, Rigid. Stanley Fatmax 16' or 25'. What about a hammer, pry bar, pliers, adjustable pliers, utility knife? To name a few...
ОтветитьI love this video so much, I keep watching this again and again
Ответитьdamn sir, that cord saw is looking so damn good after all the work done.
ОтветитьGet a Ridgid subcompact cordless drill and be done. Power is better than 12v and it's not that big.
ОтветитьHilarious and awesome
ОтветитьVery good video! I'd like to add a pen which works kn wood and metal and some gloves ;)
Ответитьlost me at 12v bud.
ОтветитьStep 1: hold yard sale for the mountain of tools I own already
Step 2: hold a party / basketball match in the space vacated by previous tools
Step 3: buy one tool that does everything
Step 4: relax
Step 5: repeat….
This is supposed to confer wisdom and make a man?
ОтветитьThe video i needed 🙏🏼
Ответитьit's like if hank hill made this video
ОтветитьNoting ever gets done without a grinder 😂
ОтветитьBless this man, he´s a god-send. I´m motivated, inpired and comforted.
ОтветитьVery philosophical. Remember, the Western saws won the World Wars.
ОтветитьCan I subscribe twice? Great videos man
ОтветитьGreat and true film! But one reason I'd suggest getting the 18v versions of your power tools, is that by putting together a simple DIY mount and running 2 or 3 in series, you can power your homebrew electric bicycle (another tool) on the ride to the workshop. (granted, you may walk to yopur workshop, but still...)
ОтветитьHammer?
Ответить1. Multitool's are expensive overhyped rubbish. If you are not limited by the size of your bag - don't even bother.
2. Quality Hex/Torx and other specialized multitools are an exception.
3. A ruler, a tape measure and a vernier caliper are a must.
4. Dremel-like drills with small chucks are less usable than you may think. Better opt for tools with normal chucks.
5. Don't mix PH and PZ - head screwdrivers. Don't use under/oversized bits. Don't use worn-out bits. Buy as many screwdrivers, as necessary.
6. Buying battery-powered tools from different manufacturers means investing in tons of proprietary batteries.
