The Switch 2 Might NOT Launch With a New Mario Game...

It is interesting to launch a new Nintendo console without a Mario or Mario Kart game.

As an alternative, if it launches with a Legend of Zelda, Metroid or Star Fox game, I will be happy with that.

It’s pokemon, Switch 2 will launch during the holidays right when Pokémon will launch. Pokemon sells even if it’s garbage but a next gen pokemon on next gen switch? Record breaking.

I honestly don't expect a new Mario Kart anytime soon. It was only last December that MK8DX stopped releasing new content so really It has only been a year since Mario Kart Content was released. Way too soon until we get more.

Imagine if the Switch 2 launched with a game where Geno is the protagonist (literally a Snufkin-like treatment).

If the March release is still in play, could there be an uprated version of Xenoblade Chronicles X for Switch 2 and game and console launch same day? I agree its not a system seller anymore than Metroid Prime 4 is, but if its only one of two or three games with more limited appeal launching March 20, it might make more sense. Rolling out two or three titles that are in the sub-5 million seller range but are graphics showcases might not be a bad idea to set the stage before the big sellers come in the summer and fall.
I don't think this happens and the Miyamoto crossed-arms photo really does mean only "No" (mainly because Samus Hunter seems to be pushing May-July release rather than March) but its fascinating to consider. But maybe another game with "X" coming in the later timeframe could be in play, too.

Why wouldn’t it be Zelda? They spent 4 years fiddle-tucking around with a DLC aka TOTK. That’s enough time to finish the next gen game. They dropped Echoes of Wisdom out of nowhere so who’s to say that others haven’t been in development?

Smash brothers

Smash and Animal Crossing can be huge launch titles too. Yeah maybe not AS huge as 3D Mario and Mario Kart, but if in the first year they launch Smash Bros and Animal Crossing first, and then 3D Mario and Mario Kart, all four in the first year of the new console, I think it's free win. If the Mario titles are really the most ambitious in the series, maybe yeah, it takes 10 years or near that to have a new title. I prefer wait longer to have better titles, and not have rushed games for the launch (hello Mario Kart 8 for Wii U).

But I just hope the two Mario games are ready, and then they can wait longer to launch a new Smash and a new Animal Crossing, base game are 2018 and 2020 but both have DLC and I don't know how the DLC have impacted the creation of new titles so I prefer see Mario first.
