Attacking the police officers, abhorrent. Kicking a man lying prone on the floor and stamping on his head, also abhorrent. The first guy should be charged. The police officer is meant to be highly trained, and could have killed or caused lifelong damage to the guy he stamped on. He should be reprimanded at least.

I saw most officials calling for calm and asking for the 2 ongoing investigations to be allowed to run their course, and asking people not to jump to conclusions.

I work in a complaints department. We all get stuff wrong, whether its Police, Govt, Insurance companies. It's how you react to it thats important. A copper lost his head. Badly. It happens. It shouldn't. You say sorry, you dicipline effectively and fairly and move on, to regain trust. This berk doesnt get it. ~Those of us in our 50;s remeber bent coppers in the 70's 80's. Prisoners appearing before a judge with inexplicible bruises, before they've even been convicted. The world moved on. this copper aint.

The real question that needs to be answered is how three highly trained firearm offices lost control of a situation that saw them all assaulted within 15 seconds from one person. Had that person been a terrorist doesn't bear thinking about.

As a non muslim, the moment the guy was tasked and on the floor immobilised was the moment kicking the guy in the head was off the cards, thats ignoring that at least 3 secs went by between the 2 acts and thats ignoring the same officer then pulling the guy with his hands up off the chair and hitting him.

On first view I thought the officer had stepped over the mark, but wondered what had happened before that. Having seen what had happened I still believe they acted inappropriately & should be charged. I also believe the men who attacked them should be charged & given custodial sentences.

This officer lost it completely.. something he is trained not to do when they hand him a gun..!!!! “ a fight breaks out punches fly “ fine . Spur of the moment stuff.! But when the guy is down and no longer a threat to them carry on and even escalate the violence/ it becomes assault, plain and simple.!! Something the police lock people up for every day.!!

I have all the sympathy for the officer emotionally. The guy that he kicked was obviously a dangerous tw@. But the police should not be kicking folk who are in the throes of being tasered. They are trained to keep emotions in check, and keep professional. He didn’t. I don’t want him to face massive charges, but he is not suitable to be a serving officer.
