You don't hear Gary Neville saying Gareth Southgate or Graham Potter should be his beloved Man Utd Coach instead of ETH, do you? It only matters if the players have some affinity to the national team not the coach/manager. Some of these numpties need to give their heads a wobble.

I think there's a general view that it's a s**tshow that there are no English coaches that are good enough, let alone available - but there aren't. Germans have had an affinity for England for the better part of three hundred-odd years. It all started way back with King George the first and the most notable adopted German was George Frideric Handel who is arguably the father of English classical music along with Henry Purcell. By the way, how many of England's notable past players are of Irish or Scottish decent? Rooney, Lampard, Keegan, Gerrard, McManaman, McGuire raised my eyebrows well before Declan Rice and Jack Grealish. Let's leave it at that!

Tuchel is a brainiac. Football needs to change constantly, yes, but it is still just a simple game. Overthinking it helps no one. That is why Tuchel football is very much not fun, dry, boring. Neville and Carra were part of a generation, that let club rivalry into England national team. Big reason they did nothing with that generation. English really should get over WW2. It was 80 years ago.

How many countries are using coaches of different nationalities? A lot is the answer. Nothing to be ashamed of. And if you want it to change, petition FIFA to require coaches be of that nationality.

If the nationality of the personnel doesn't matter then why have international football at all? You can say the staff outside the team doesn't matter as much, but to sit there and act like it's some crazy idea that the England manager should be English is just disingenuous garbage. It's completely normal that many would think that way, and it's a point of pride for nations like Germany or Italy that they've never done this.

The last English manager to win a major trophy was Harry Redknapp in 2008 and Redknapp himself said it should be an Englishman. It's as if these people ignore the reality of how inadequate our managers are. 2008, we're talking about 5 potential major trophies each season, so out of approx 80 trophies over 16 years, not one English manager has got near one.

The issue seems to be that in England only top former players seem to be given opportunities to manage, even though they seem to fail over and over and over and aren’t equipped for the jobs they’re given. So Neville is partly are for the lack of top coaches.

Look at Germany - Tuchel, Nagelsman, Klopp, Flick, Ragnick, Low, even their lower level coaches Glasner, Rohl, Hürzeler, Farke etc were never top class players and have had to work their way through the ranks and prove themselves and have the skills and tools to succeed by the time they get to the top flight jobs.
