I hear the stat guys on here saying stuff like "8 out of the 9 hardest hit balls in this game were by the Braves" and "they still have a positive run differential." You can quote stats all day long. I love stats. They are fun, but they don't take into consideration the nuances of the game. Most important stat of this series is this: 3 for 22 with RiSP. In other words, when it matters, the Braves can't produce. And, at the end of the day, good teams find ways to win, and bad teams find ways to lose. This is a bad baseball team. And its almost unfixable. The only thing that will fix it is if these guys we gave huge, long contracts to start coming through. You can't trade these guys, really, because who are you going to get for them? I'm starting to believe that having a bunch of guys on long term contracts is a bad idea. These guys are gonna get their paychecks, no matter what, even if they get traded. I've known enough pro athletes in my time to know something for sure: this bothers them less than it does the fan base. It's sort of like getting paid insane amounts of money for a shitty company, which is still a pretty good position to be in. One pro athlete I knew rarely talked about winning or losing. They are mostly concerned about staying in the show. He said told me something like, "we've all been playing X all of our lives. We don't know anything else. You are constantly faced with losing, and it's nice to win, but that really doesn't influence anything. We are always just trying to keep the gravy train going." It's why many times, guys play the best in the year their contract is up, so they work harder to "keep the gravy train going." I'm sure the losing bothers them. But it doesn't keep them up at night. After its all over, they go home to their $10 million homes and hot wives, and fleets of cars and boats, and enjoy their lives, while we seeth in the comment section of YT!
ОтветитьPhillies are out there doing their best Braves impression too
Ответить20% responsible wins/loses a lot of 1-run games. You had no problem before the season talking about how much the new hitting coach would change things.. and at this point he's actually made it worse. But now you say the manager doesn't change anything? Also, that IS correlation, that just may not be causation.
Frustration day, series, month, season, over-a-year slump now since april last year.
I don't know who made the decision on what a Quality Start is, but it seems weird to me that a pitcher can technically have a 4.5 ERA for the game & that be good enough to be considered a QS. A 4.5 ERA is considered to be average in the MLB.
When I think about something being quality as it applies to products & services, I think of those things being above average, not just average.
i tune in to the game and saw the score 3-1 then giants scored 4-3 and i turned it off checked 2 hours later and they lost. i cannot watch this ball team anymore.
ОтветитьDesperation makes people do stupid things. The Braves are desperate. Was that not stupid by them bringing Kimbrel up for 1 game then DFA him the next day? Stupid excuse by them saying they needed someone who could pitch more than 1 inning. Doesn't Dodd do that? Did they not know that before they brought Kimbrel up?
ОтветитьJust wait till the dope-head gets back June 29th.......
ОтветитьSlightly more than a casual fan here- what does a manager actually do and is measured on? I keep hearing there is not much Snitker can do and I understand it is on the players to be better and could have done more to build the team in offseason, but how do you explain the falling off a cliff from 2023 without any course correct offensively from the players that are still here from that year? In any other job, management is there to coach and direct when your team’s performance dips. You can pick apart individual performance and fire individuals for lacking results, but if overall performance is consistently bad the manager is canned. It feels like that logic is not there with baseball and managers cannot ever be at fault as it is always on the professional player to just perform. Not a criticism of any take on the podcast, just genuinely curious when it is actually the manager’s fault for poor performance
ОтветитьLet’s see if Braves rebound like the Mets did last year
ОтветитьHARD HIT BALLS don't win games. HIT'S wins games.
ОтветитьIf you do the math, the Braves are following short on offense and are following a little short on pitching. They just need a minor adjustment in both areas. They need to sell off a few players to acquire the right pieces to put the season back on track
ОтветитьMisery. Go Braves. The lowest valleys and all that.
ОтветитьThis has been the offense for last 2 years. It’s time to clean out the clubhouse and start over.
ОтветитьStrider threw 90 pitches. Only 54 were strikes. Strider is a #5 starter
ОтветитьThe bullpen is so trash...and the offense is very inconsistent..
ОтветитьCan’t fix an offense that has 7 regulars on guaranteed long term contracts.
ОтветитьKevin Seitzer has to be laughing at AA
ОтветитьStrider gives up 3 hits.... and we lose... yep... just another normal braves game this season. Snit needs to go.
ОтветитьWhen you've lost 10 consecutive games you don't get to even use the words, the umpire, sorry
ОтветитьPatient Times
ОтветитьI have to admit, this is therapeutic
ОтветитьCan someone explain to me why Marcel Ozuna would be one of the first ones to get traded? He is one of the only consistent Batts the Atlanta Braves have. He’s better than most in the MLB. Our offense is lackluster as it is. If we take him away, then we really don’t have anything. How are we going to generate runs.? How are we going to make up for his loss?
ОтветитьSnit is just playing the hand he is dealt. Only so many tools in the trunk to play with.
ОтветитьNeed a shake up. The chemistry on this team is not working.
ОтветитьTrade ozuna for Simpson..get more speed on the bases they’ll be ok
ОтветитьOk, this was inspired by a comment I read elsewhere, but it really got me thinking….
Swap out 2025 Raisel Iglesias with a killer closer (or even 2024 version of Iggy) and just that ONE change results in at least 5-6 losses switched to wins and better vibes. You can even include the 2 recent Pierce 9th inning losses — he’s only there cause we can’t trust Iggy.
Hate to lay it at his feet, but things might be simpler than we realize here…
I hope they lose at least twenty-five games in a roll. They are natural losers. It will not get any better. That's just the way it is.
ОтветитьFire the manager. He's terrible 😞
ОтветитьBraves are cursed.
ОтветитьAlso, the umpiring was atrocious
ОтветитьThey are only 2 1/2 games ahead of the Marlins! Let that sink in
ОтветитьAppreciate you Sir Crosby.
ОтветитьThe braves offense is giving every indication of choking. It looks like they have lost confidence in themselves. They are discouraged. They have a defeatist mentality. They believe they can't do it so they don't. Just like in 2021, they need another Joc Peterson type player who can get them to believe in themselves again.
ОтветитьBrewer fan here. Are the Braves desperate to win or are the Braves kind of accepting their lot in life this year.
ОтветитьBraves gonna lose 100 games. 😢
ОтветитьThe Braves have not been fun to watch in a couple years now. Personally, I think they locked up too many players long term. When you bring in the same players with no change, complacency sets in.
ОтветитьGot to make adjustments
ОтветитьAs soon as MH2 got married in the offseason, I knew he wouldn’t be worth a damn this season. It happens every time.
ОтветитьIt's not even bothersome or depressing at this point. I've been hate watching for a while and it's honestly kind of fun. What's the record for 1 run games in a row lost? Let's shoot for that! They've made getting walked off into an art form. Let's see how they perfect their craft over the season. Etc. etc. As for as being competitive in the MLB though.. with how AA set this thing up trying to be stingy and banking on average/mostly below average players becoming superstars, it'll be 10 years before we can reset.
ОтветитьPhils fan here..what is with MLB and these hitters? Do they actually work at Spring Training or is it Hooters everyday at 4pm in Florida? The huge amount of hitters in MLB hitting under .225 is rediculous.
ОтветитьSaludos desde Venezuela brother!! Tienen que hacer muchos cambios no lo sé deberían cambiar al coach de bateo, se tiene que hacer algo 😢
ОтветитьI wish we could send this entire team to AAA and bring the AAA team to Atlanta, however it’s not possible, but I bet it would get somebody’s attention! This team seems comfortable at losing!
ОтветитьTruist Park attendance is about to be so low 😂
ОтветитьMan I'm just devastated. I don't understand. We have seen what this team can do. It's 22 and 23 were awesome years. I think it's the bullpen. Yeah they were great in the beginning. But now we started scoring runs and the bullpen has collapsed. Perfect examples we were 9-9 in one run games. And now after today we are 9-19. 10 straight 1 run losses. Another stat. R Iglesias is 10/22 in Saves. After the 10-4 meltdown. He came in at 10-7. Blew it and made it his 12th, yeah that's right TWELTH save. We would be 2 games over .500 if him and the other part of the bullpen didn't lose 10 straight 1 run games and 12 saves. This is frustrating. Also 2 losses were due to Eli white and today Ozzies error. Actual come to think. There has been a couple more huge errors that cost us the lead. So we can add 4 more losses bc of bad errors.
Ответитьhire mark dersosa as the manager at the end of the year
ОтветитьWe need a 15-11 month and we are 0-7. Can we go 15-4 the rest of the way?
ОтветитьWe are the worst team in baseball. I guarantee the rockies will win the series against us
ОтветитьWe don’t have 🔥 in the dugout. I think last year’s injury list is affecting morale . It’s like they’re playing with their heads down. As if we have given up this year.
ОтветитьWill Rolddy Muñoz ever take the next step and help the major league pen or does he just no have it?
Ответить
