Fuck I've played this game way back on my PS2 and I've been looking for it, this hit me right in my nostalgic feels!

I played this as a demo and I didn't know what was going on, so I was just cruising around as if it was GTA. Good old times.

i don't know why (maybe are the colors) but this game got some gritty look to it.
it always fascinate me and at the sametime scares me.

Looking back - The Getaway games were really quite unique and rather under appreciated at the time they came out, back then though it was all about GTA - which in fairness played a smoother and slicker game. The atmosphere in The Getaway games was fantastic though and for that reason they deserve a little retrospective love and you've done a fabulous job here with this video, definitely the most enjoyable play through I've watched in a long while.
Nice to see my hometown represented rather than the usual slice of Americana! Also--the voice acting is pretty good too, the PS2 really is working really hard and deserves a lot of credit for how good it all looks and sounds--which is an area that it doesn't get enough respect for, The Getaway games definitely deserve an HD remake on the PS4 and with the addition of a control overhaul I think they'd make a decent budget download. How about it Sony?

Yes, the games weren't pretty, yes, it was pretty empty. But what was fun, they had something that today's games don't have anymore.

A friend gave me a bunch of games and this was included - I've never laughed so hard when you purposely drive badly and get told off.
