Native Instruments New DEAL, Ableton Live 12, Free Compressor

I honestly believe that music software purchases can become a serious addiction that will drain all your financial resources if you don't get a handle on the situation. Sounds funny but even as a non pro I have splashed out many thousands of dollars on music software that I'll probably never use in the fullest sense. I get drawn in by what is being played on each of the synths and plugins and it's buy buy buy but I'm having to be ever so mindful on this "addiction" (?) fuelled by a very heavy sell hype on the tube. I've bought most all major DAWS perpetual but have also bought many bundles like Komplete 13 ultimate and all Arturia software and much much more. A non smoker or drinker I've spent more money on software than my Audi 3.2 Quattro cost but with my car I get the BUZZ when I'm driving it but I'll NEVER EVER use all this software in the proper sense even though I do create with it all but it's unnecessary for me and IS a huge problem. I understand it sounds laughable with the opening for eternal jokes but I sure wish I had all that money now bar a few softwares and my hardware like S61 Mk2 Komplete keyboard etc. And it'll never stop so maybe good FREE software is the answer along with Synth Rehab ! what spec Mac device would you recommend for music production that will be more than enough ? I’m thinking of trying Luna because of the almost zero latency with my Apollo twin x
I currently am using ableton live on windows but looking to switch to Mac for Luna . Does Luna with uad Apollo twin x offer better sound quality like real analog hardware than using ableton live ?

I’ve been a loyal NI customer for so damn long and they pulled this shit. Literally spent thousands on their product. Contacted a support team but they refused to do anything about it! We need to boycott this company. They give zero shit about us loyal customers so why should we?

I hate HI, I purchased Komplete after watching the demo video on NI's own channel, turns out it was a bait and switch, I ended up with Komplete Kontrol 3 which is an awful pile of crap compared to the earlier 2.9 version.

I have to agree with the others here, I had a look on my account and nothing, I cannot even get this somehow without rebuying the whole of 14. its no wonder Dirk stepped down with this thinking going on.

ctrl+space doesn't work on multiclip midi it was not working from 11 they hadn't still fixed it on 12
1.they should had implemented slots feature permanently on live 12 it would make it cleaner where we can open and close plugins directly on mixer.
2. 3rd party plugins while loading them should had loaded with minimized xy pad
3. shortcut to open and close a plugin so that we don't have to go to small wrench icon (ctrl+alt+P only works for single specific plugin)
4. shortcut to hide devices Panel i think on live 11 they had shortcut for it (ctrl+alt+L) which doesn't work on 12
5 Dry and wet knob for plugins
6. feature where you hold ctrl/command while dragging loops or samples to get it unwarped on the timeline

So existing NI customers get the finger?

Well, this was really a huge dick move from Native Instruments. I have the 14 Collector's edition, and I'm being punished for buying it earlier. And therefore, any newer customers will actually have a Komplete 14 that's very different than what my "Everything ever released Komplete 14" is. These are the kind of stuff you would have expected in the next iteration 15. This company's business tactics seem to suck more and more.

I assume these new instruments are available for current Komplete 14 owners as well as new buyers, otherwise, this is a big miss by them

12 checked alot of boxes but-- the obvious one- which i Never even thought was possible with the "session vs arrangement view" set up- was , ,full audio editing capabilities in session view-, got the demo of bitwig & was like ? .. .? wait wha? .. it's possible? - add to that- the ability to have both midi and audio inhabit the same clip?- bonkers that we can't do that in 12 --

Thank you, Sanjay! Yes, in the 70 anniversary offers there is the AKAI MPK 61, a quite old keyboard controller, but for an affordable price. I‘m thinking about it. On the other and I‘d like to wait for the Arturia MK3 with aftertouch which might come soon.

Funny thing is NI did the same move a few months ago it’s just a shame what becomes of NI. Sanjay you should speak up against NI and don’t advertise for them just for money. I really thought you would care more about your viewers. I really hope you make a statement

Super disappointed in Live 12. There are much "smaller" things that are actually bigger than what they've done, and it is in the form of things they ignore. Here's a few:
1. No support for CLAP
2. The way it handles VST3 is shite
3. user made VST folders are ignored
4. No MIDI2
5. It's a pig for resources. A little better than 11, but that's not saying much.
6. It won't read VSTs with any 32bit code and VST2 is something it's weak with.
7. It's VERY slow to open (faster than 11, but see 5)

That's just the tip of the iceberg. Frankly, I'm moving more and more of my production over to Reaper.

1. Supports CLAP
2. You can put VST3s where you need them
3. It respects your folders
4. It's WAY mess of a resource pig
5. It'll read any VSTs you've got
6. It opens in seconds

So, I will probably skip 12 and see what 13 or 14 has to offer.

NI sucks for not giving freebies to customers that already have The Collections editions that’s just sad.

Just use Astra or Serum or Nexus. Komplete should just stick to live instruments like guitars. (Not to burst anyones bubble). Save your diskspace lol

Ableton 12 is a good improvement, yet still inferior to Logic 10.8 IMO. (that otta cause some debate!)

Sanjay - I know you have been busy with other much more important things, outside of this, but NI is not offering these special bonuses to current NI Komplete 14 owners - um. If this remains the case, they are going to lose a lot of customers, in any future endeavors. I own Komplete 14 and and am an annual Izotope suite subscriber. I have also been on the fence on the new Mk3 - if this is the case, this definitely pushes me off the fence entirely. Since I do not see it in my Native Access - I submitted a support ticket. I would recommend others, that own Komplete 14, do the same.

Ableton is missing Stem separation, Ai mastering, more customization for GUI themes. More collection options as you mentioned. However, you can now add Plugin collections under the Library tab. The update cost is too pricey compared to all other Daw’s except Protools.

Sanjay ... if I already purchased Complete 14 Ultimate, can I still get the two new bonus instruments?

I hope Ableton understands if they adopt daw project Bitwig users will use both.
