Are you feathering the clutch? It didn't look like you pressed it down the same way you would do when shifting. So I'm good to push the clutch in to bite point while turning and slowly give it gas while straitening out in a lower gear? Every-time I come across turns I feel like I'm taking them to quickly because I don't want to slow down the car too much that It starts to lug bc I'm in the wrong gear.

Isn’t that coasting in the turn? Better to slow down to 1st for a sharp closed turn. That way you can avoid situations like that with the pedestrian at the end.
