It's sad that Mormons and this lady can't see and understand that Joseph Smith was a fraud, a sinner, and a FALSE prophet. Polygyny is Biblically correct, but the mormon denomination is so screwed up it's not even funny. I think the mormons and jehovah's witnesses are having a contest to see who can come up with the craziest religious beliefs.

Speaking as a non-Christian with an academic interest in theology, I thought this was a really well-structured interview- the interviewer does a great job of asking good questions without dominating the process, and I thought Anne was excellent at explaining her beliefs in a way that a non-believer can follow (which I know can be really hard). So what happened to the God of Adam? Geeez how confusing. But it's understandable. Mormon religion is still only a little less than 200 years old (where as Christianity is nearly 2000 years) so you guys are still working out all the BUGS. I'll check back with you folks in a 1000 years.

Anne B. Wilde is a very interesting person. I don't think she would every hurt anyone or be part of an organization that did. I just don't agree with much of what she says. I don't understand how God/Adam/Michael could possibly be the same entity. How did Jesus and the Holy Spirit get bumped from the Holy Trinity? That being said, I absolutely do believe in the freedom of religion as long as children and teens aren't being hurt.

It wasn't going too badly until they got to the blood atonement. Ugh...

These resembles teachings from the Zohar which Joseph Smith studied and his views on it was included in the Documentary History of The Church.

I like this lady, even if her beliefs are what I consider veering from the Gospel... she's smart as heck.

A man who came to the Lord after being a satan worshipper said that in the beginning, they got you to go against your conscience in sexual matters.  After that, they could get you to do and believe anything.   Polygamy is satanic.

I am amazed that John Dehlin can remain so calm and sound almost like he agrees with her.

Just goes to show how the complete rubbish of Joseph smith was able to become entrenched from the pioneers to the families of today when they had no real access to truth and information that would have showed clearly the swindle and fraud. If only they had had the internet this cancer would never have been able to take root. Joseph Smith took Fanny Alger as his first plural wife behind his wife Emma Hales back and before he had the so called 'Sealing Powers' to perform plural marriage. It was a smoke screen for Smith using his religious position as the cult leader to be able to satisfy his sexual lust. Now you have this poor woman trying to make the practise of Polygamy honourable when it's origin in mormonism was evil and despicable.

People the polygamist are the FLDS they're not mainstream.

Wow....I hope Anne is still alive and you both would be open to doing another interview. This series is one of my favorites. She is so sure of her teachings it is absolutely fascinating. As someone who has left the church with no resentments, for some reason her words and convictions in this portion of the interview made sense to me. I am so curious how she feels about the “progress” made with the public fundamentalist families in mainstream media and her opinions on the New World Order and Kingdom of God given the current political and religious states of the world.

Not sure if she’s happy or years of pent up abuse is making her cry at the end

The power of beliefs along with the ability to change them when it no longer serves them (humans) FASCINATING!

Humans attempts to use an illusory construct called time to solidify beliefs. If beliefs do not keep up with the times … they eventually change. What appears to make them legit is to bring a divine dirty into the picture … gods made in the image of man.

This is what science picked up on, not establishing beliefs where there no way real way to control them …. prevent change (because humans are not gods)… so they come up with another term called theories.

Although based on facts proven within time, they are constantly proving theories to be right or wrong and are open to new discoveries that reinforces, add to or come up with new theories.

And no deity is in the mix.
