This was bad. The offense was horrid, and the team couldn't run the ball. The Offensive line just couldn't run block or pass block.

The Offensive line did poorly.

The call to throw the ball at the end of the 1st half with 30 seconds to go, which resulted in an interception and 3 points for Hawaii has to be one of the stupidest calls I have ever seen.

Top offensive production for UCLA came from people who wore striped shirts and carried whistles…..

Thank God for the win and thank God we have a bye week to clean that up!
I love Devin Aipui #44 but we have to have a younger guy like Acheampong that can actually get pressure on the quarterback because Devin cannot he's not athletic enough and we can't blitz every time we need pressure

First half i was like OMG ITS GOING TO BE A LOOOOONG SEASON! I thought we'd might not win 1 game.....BUT WE WON! I am optimistic esp bc of the pivots in all the games plays and Garbers play. He did a complete 180...I AM PROUD OF THE TEAM!

I have to revise my expectations down. I’d be happy with a 4 win season now…

My takes: we need some speed or size on the field. Looks like #49 LB is slow in coverage and not skilled as a rusher.

#28 TE doesn't seem like he is 6'4" also is so slow. Looks like we onlu have two legit TE's so far 88 & 87.

Wr's are fine qb just has to get a better rhythm with them.

Qb had tough start then settled down. Still doesnt seem to have timing with wrs.

Where are the new transfer DE's #15 and #97. We need some speed off the edge. Busic and apiu are not bad but nothing about eithe is dynamic

The O L was slow off the snap on run plays, could not block up to the second level result, no room to run. Defense held a run and shoot offensive to 13 points and they played hard for 60 minutes.

i have to say i didnt see many wide open receivers. Garber was horrific in the first half, but anyone who i saw open was probably breaking open when Garber was looking in other directions. near the end zone in the first half i did see someone break open right over the middle, would have been an easy pass...The rushing was horrible. Harden was unrecognizable...

Bienemy should be on the hotseat. Im not sold on him yet. The second half was better, but still...

even when Garbers had some throws, the receivers weren't very open. For college it looked like the scheme was not very good.

the truth is UClA is not in a league. It isn't a league when you only play a team every other year, at most, and when you might have ONE home game against "league rivals" in your entire four year college playing career. Thats a joke. It isn't a league, its basically like saying there is no league. What if Rams played the 49ers every other year...would that be a league?

the truth is the PAC 12 was a much, much, tougher schedule. Everyone knew everyone, playing all the time. This Big 18 is not much different from having all of the colleges just pull games out of a hat.

If they can’t run the ball against Hawaii then how do they expect to run the ball against anyone else they play this year? Carlin and Makhiele are abysmal

The bruins were either nervous or in a rush to played really good !

Coaches made nice adjustments at halftime and Garbers and the rest of the team hung in there and didn't beat themselves in the 2nd half.

The Bruins are horrible. The O-line is playing like a misdirected High school unit and doesn’t even know gap blocking assignments. It’s rediculous to see at the college level. They have alot of work to do. It’s looking like a long season ahead.

They showed some grit and fight. Coaches decision with less than a minute from your own end zone before the half to go for a score and throw ... I hope I never see that again. Otherwise, on the road, different time zone, game 1, they got the W and overcame the mistakes.

Its less about where they are today and more about how much they improve week 2 and every week after. Lot to do this week and next.

The second half the offense was clicking .. the defense stepped up and looked great... we're going to be fine they needed a game like this! After that 90 yard drive I knew we were going to win this game and they're going to do great..

DeShaun Foster is as bad as Carl Dorrel at least after one game. We're going to have trouble covering the spread against "bye" next week. 😊 This game was just simply awful and almost impossible to watch.
