Tbh it’s really really difficult to feel bad for the pilots when they basically had total control over the ruby emerald and sapphire weapons and deliberately chose to melt their own souls to improve the diamond weapon instead of taking what they had and freeing Werylet instead of just hoping one would live long enough to steal the Diamond weapon from under Varros nose when he had no leverage on them until after they started dropping like flies
