Buying vinyl records in the 90s was always an exciting time. You had to get to record store before they would sell out. Hip hop in the 90's to me was at its best and these two gentlemen were killing it with their party records. Riz is nasty on the turntables. Today, I'm still holding on to my vinyl collection, but playing hip hop comes in third after house and latin music. To me, it's just not the same hip hop I enjoyed in the 90's. Great podcast.

DJ Riz is humble, and an amazing DJ, from Hip-Hop, to House, Open Format, etc. He is a Master . I only met DJ Eclipse once, but he is a good man, his knowledge of Hip-Hop is amazing, and Rap is Outta Control is pure joy for that Boom Bap freestyle rap vibe. I am blessed to known DJ Riz since we were kids in Canarsie Brooklyn NY. If you can go out and see him DJ, you will see how he rocks a party, and lately he has been teaming up with Sizzahandz at Venues in Staten Island NY as Crooklyn Clan.

Shout out from Denmark! I loved Fat Beats and Beat Street. Beat street was a crazy store with so many records and way way too late music on a busted system. Real raw hip hop vibe. An amazing experience. Fat Beats was the mecca with nice friendly people behind the counter. But yes, it was hard to get a listen before you buy. 😅 I am happy to have experienced this first hand.

RIP Fat Beats. Miss hitting Bagel Buffet pregame, Percee P slangin tapes at the bottom of the stairs, scooping tees and tapes, then bop over to Footwork to dig through crates and cop tees. Magical times man. Blessed to have been there for it.
