I love love love this! but I dont understand 1 thing. I understand this software working for digital currencies like bitcoin and game tokens but how does it actually work with silver oz? How does that work? do I send physical silver after the transaction?

Hi. See occupy the banks DOT COM and the top Nav bar entry FIX PKTP. With Open Transactions it is possible to digitize REAL THINGS ... if you have silver oz digitized and so do I; the digital contracts can have that silver supplied IF WANTED ... The point here is that we CAN and WILL create a REAL economic (monetary system). If we all commence to issue our own currencies, the banksters days are over (full stop). With OT, you can create WHATEVER CONTRACT YOU WANT. ;) Backed, unbacked, etc!

Sorry it took so long to respond to your question; busy indeed this end, as you can see from the post on the site mentioned (we're supplying much of the news sourcing there ATM!). But please DO get subscribed ot the Free Newsletter to get notice the moment we have installers available (likely a few weeks or a month or two AT MOST for sure!)!

The best answer would be to ask you to go read up on Nostro and Vostro bank accounts; if you understand how the current FRAUDULENT FAKE FIAT money is 'moved' (it never really does move), you have the answer to your question above. Same way, just (and we're real big on this), our money would be backed by silver, gold;' whatever u want (or nothing; and it can COMPETE for usefulness in a FREE MARKET) ... Now wouldn't that be bie and be a nice CHANGE. ;) Pun intended! :)

I see a problem with Markets: The agreements made on the Markets screen are not complete until the parties Accept them in their Inbox. The parties could also reject them in their inbox. What that means is that you could game the market. For example, if someone is offering 50 shares of Foo at price X, and you also want to sell shares of Foo, you could bid X for 50 shares of foo just to clear the market, sell your own shares to someone else, and then reject the deal you made to buy 50 shares.

In response to jaminunit: think of contracts on physical items, such as silver oz, like a coupon backed by the issuer. If you want to take physical delivery of the item, you would have to redeem your contract with the issuer. This is very exciting, as currently, to issue contracts in the US, you have to hire a lawyer and register with the SEC, which costs around $10k even for the simplest cases. Hope that answers your question a little better--no disrespect to the OP.

Do you send paper dollars when you trade online right now? No, a BALANCING transaction takes place (in nostro and vostro accounts) of the banks, between you and the payee; all done electronically. However, to more fully answer; ANYTHING can be digitally cryptographically CONTRACTED for; you decide the details; you personally, as a user, or as an ISSUER. U could of course, just hold coins, and be that balance. ;) New concepts; NEW MARKETS; BECOME THE BANKS! :)
