ya i really dont get it. v was only out of the picture for 2 years and was cured but everyone goes out of their way to pretend like its so depressing to the point where i find the whole thing just weird. you have money, a fleet of cars, you should have several properties and plenty of folks who would remember you but instead everyone acts so glum and your girlfriend bounces and wont talk to you only after 2 years?
whoever wrote this mission is a chode.
He will never have a happy ending that’s real life deal with it
ОтветитьLooking at this a second time, and yeah, nothing here, convinced me for even a millisecond, that this is actually a good ending. Id honestly say, it’s almost worse, than the path of least resistance, because at least there, the people actually seem to care about you. This one, was just a slap in the face, to everything V experienced.
ОтветитьThe tower ending parallels the temperance ending really well, both Johnny and V leave their respective endings irrevocably changed, Johnny having his ego broken and V having his ability to be a merc broken, both now need to find themselves anew.
Here’s the other thing, in most of the other endings, the tower ending still exists two years down the road, Judy finds someone else, River becomes a corrupt cop, Vik gets bought out by Zetatech, and Misty closes her store. Only the sun ending offers the possibility of V still being around for long enough and still in night city to prevent those things. Heck the only one who’s not hurting in the tower ending is Kerry who’s at the crystal palace the same place of the heist in the Sun ending.
"We humans are social and empathetic creatures." Counterpoint: Republicans.
ОтветитьV rejecting Reed's job offer is a clear sign that if V knew what the cost of the cure is, he isn't going to take it and risk it with Johnny instead.
As much as I get the point of this video, I think you're looking at this through the lense of our real world situation, Night City isn't a place where you can just start over and choose a life you want. NC drains the life out of anyone that isn't filthy rich or corpo slave. And the world of cp2077 isn't that great either, everywhere else is under the Corpo's mercy. Soon a s the next corpo war or AI emergence comes, ordinary folks are the first to go, at least V as a merc can fight back.
I loved this ending soo much! V get a chance at a new life he gets to start over. I thought it was great!!
ОтветитьBeautiful video! It was spot on!
ОтветитьI loved the new ending. Yeah, V could still be a merc and follow his ambitions. I bet in 2079 there will be some alternatives for implants. Advanced armor, AI weapons with smart link like Skippy... the thing is - it seems V has given up himself in this ending, or at least his goals and that's the point the ending hits. In the end, he lost everything and had to pay the price.
ОтветитьIt's crazy how Johnny is so slow to realize that he literally lived his own life, made his own choices and those choices led to his death- sure you could say the same for V, but it was a freak accident that brought V back to life and Johnny coming back as a voice in V's head was an unfortunate byproduct. V also was just stealing a biochip Johnny literally nuked a city center and killed numerous innocent people.
ОтветитьThis ending straight up feels worse then dying
ОтветитьWhat I find funny is that most people don't realize that he isn't going to die a mister nobody and the reason why I believe this is because all of the things that he did do will be remembered and are remembered.
ОтветитьI just want to say that this comment section has been an absolute joy to read through.
ОтветитьThe Tower ending is the best ending for those that grew to value and become attatched to V as a character. You can like Jackie, you can like Johnny, you can Like Panam, or you can like Judy, but at the end of the day, the only person you as the player can truly like is V themselves.
Ответитьthis ending is what V feared Most , to be FORGTTEN ! As he Never Existed .
A Fear i Share With him and Jhonny
The sadness of this ending is incredibly forced.. and playng a minimal implant playthrough just puts more clown makeup on the writers.
Ответить🤣 bro played entire game and don't understand why this ending is the worst. Some gonks almost killed V around the corner and he's talking about positively survive 😅 basically you become smoosh on NC street floor or some fleshy burger in scavs hands. Hope 🤣
ОтветитьBro really just made me choose the panam (stars) ending fr this ending sucks yeah it has meaning but at the end of the day you wish for your character to at least achieve his dream not to become a background character
ОтветитьIn my playthrough Jonny was possed but during the AV ride he comes to terms with dying and forgives V for his choices. Also V gets to be a legend, according to Rogue.
ОтветитьI 100% agree that this overall a “good ending” for V, but I’m upset with how some of it was handled. I think V losing virtually all of their friends is such an unnecessary gut punch. I think if V had lost their chrome but still had their friends to lean on, it would have made for a much stronger message: that it's more important to live and spend time with those you care about than to die chasing some dumb dream of becoming famous.
ОтветитьDon't you keep the love interest you had?
ОтветитьWhen you max out relation woth Johnny, the ending is depressing because at this point you are killing a friend, and he is like "it's okay, I understand and support. It was fun while it lasted but we both knew how it ends"
ОтветитьA happy ending for folks like us? Wrong city, wrong people.
ОтветитьI disagree completely with your assessment of this ending.
What exactly improves about V's life?
He's no longer being killed by the chip, sure but what does he have?
"No ties" he had the before the heist.
If anything V is in the same position he was before the heist but significantly worse cause he is now weaker than the common street thug. If anything V is most likely to end up dead in this ending, just now most people aren't really going to miss him since they already made peace with him being gone.
the most devastating loss of this ending was my beard.
ОтветитьThe biggest cost that I cant get over is Panam. Everything else is fine
Ответитьfor all of us, in the end, we're just "tears in the rain".
ОтветитьI personally prefer the King of Cups ending but if I were V, I'd choose the tower ending. People yearn for retirement and a new beginning and V earned it. Not to mention with her expectations(especially with corpo V), V will get back on his/her feet in no time. Heck, even become a fixer is still a possibility.
ОтветитьThe ending shows two things.
.
How do you choose to live your second chance at life. Sorrow in your past, or start over and find purpose in this new life. How do you handle freedom.
And
Those that didn't stay with you were never meant to be with you.
While I appreciate the new perspective on this ending. The legend ending is still the best one to me. It's vague and undfinitive but I think it's heavily implied that Mr Blue eyes is offering something v is looking for in that heist on the Moon station and at this point v is already a legend. He's now the owner of the afterlife, so I can't imagine that v would be interested in any sort of great reward unless it had to do with potentially saving his life. He couldn't give a s*** about credits he's already got plenty of those and he doesn't care about augmentations he's already one of the strongest beings on the planet. So the only reward that I could imagine Mr Blue eyes is using to tempt v would be some sort of cure.
ОтветитьV reminds me of me no cringe lol learning to live when all you know is survival is so much harder than people would think
ОтветитьNah, it's a shitty misery porn ending. CDPR just doesn't understand the essence of cyberpunk narratives; they're about hope and meaning, not nihilistic bullshit.
ОтветитьOkay one you said that you have played though this game, and maybe you have. Still you've missed the whole point of the this ending. This ending is a fate that is worsen than death to V. Yes he want to survive, but not like this. This is why he goes back to Vic to see if there is anything that can be done. This point is driven home when he runs into the mugger or ginger. They treat him like a nobody, and worse their is nothing that V can do about it, other than take it. Also in this world if you can't cyber modify your self you are just like any other gunk in Night City. You see you hit a pond it with the meeting with Dex. This is not what V wants. Matter of fact this is the complete opposite of what V wants. V is complete alone with nothing to do or can do. I don't care how much you say he can find something new. Because the fact is V won't find anything. With this ending V is just like all the " normal " in Night City.
Now for a like Cyberpunk talk. One please realize I love Cyberpunk, and it is one of my favorite TTRPG. Still the game it self in the end is all about style, and the cool factor. Also if you want what a game of Cyberpunk in most cases will look like, watch Cyberpunk Edgerunners. That right there will tell you why that this ending is the saddest of all the ending. Because no will make a Cyberpunk Punk character just for the Quiet life. I ran a Cyberpunk 2020 game and had a player that wanted to play a normal person with out cyberwear. I tried and so did the other player tried to warn that player that this was a terrible idea. Well guess what happen the character die very badly in the first combat.
In the end a good Cyberpunk game is not going to end with a quiet ending were you grow old and die. Why, because that would be boring and not all that much fun. Matter of fact of this ending is a true ending, and not a set up for Project Orion. Then I see V taking his or her own life because V is not going to be able to deal with the " real World ".
Face in the crowd, honestly if I didn’t see misty and vik I think the ending would’ve been harder to deal with. They were so positive and raw about your situation but they emphasized the idea of “ starting over and new” yes my V won’t be the person he was by the beginning but by the end he had gone through so much he just decided to leave to night city and live a normal life somewhere
ОтветитьYou kill Johnny and mess up your relationships, this was depressing, but also a good ending.
Ответитьthis is sad af
ОтветитьThe tower tarot card in the game does imply that this is ultimately a bad ending, since it represents a destructive change.
Although, the actual tower tarot card in real life does represent a potentially positive change. A change that may seem unsettling at first, but which is ultimately a positive, liberating one.
I’m surprised at your conclusion. V took the Mr Nobody ending. He went from being legend to being an embarrassment at the cost of his woman and his best friend. Even at the Afterlife he would be an embarrassment for him to appear. He’s no longer important. He gets to live life and die of old age in his bed, this is the coward V ending and by far the most depressing. He has time now, to reflect on how he failed everyone important to him. I think the feel and the tempo of that ending only display just how hopeless he has become.
ОтветитьWrong, it's the worst possible ending
ОтветитьExactly...
ОтветитьJohnnys the only reason I don’t do this ending
ОтветитьCyberpunk really does feel complete with this choice on the table. It's definitely the hardest to digest, but I think there is serious philosophy behind it. Think about it. The world makes V feel guilty for his choices, but remember no one is perfect or innocent. They all made their choices. Silverhand died the day he decided to be a people's pleaser and storm Arasaka, killing many people. Jackie wanted to be a legend and paid the ultimate price. V on the other hand didn t fully buy into that vision. That s why he was given a moment of grace, where he would be in this limbo, having to choose between legend or not. I believe V truly died and this was his punishment. His limbo, or hell. He made his choices, and they got him at the end of Dexter's gun. No one is innocent and it is their choices that keep them colliding with V. So Mi could have chosen to tell the truth from the begining, or to leave the cure to V altogether. But she chose to be selfish which got her captured. Johnny could have been content with small steps towards progress, instead of trying to be bigger than life, and instead of being turned into an AI he might have ended up together with Rogue. So there is no guilt in the end. Everyone made their choices. As did you. And there is nothing wrong with any of them, as long as it is the one for you. Me personally, I'd choose between this one, where V gets a second chance, the temperance ending where I think you give the body to Johnny, who stands to gain a lot more than V in my opinion. These two are really similar in a way. Neither of the two get their happy ending, but both get a second chance. That, or I'd go with with the star, where V goes with the aldecaldos. In the 6 months he has left, he s got money, implants, power and a loyal team by his side. He might stand a chance to find a cure in the end. And if not, then he can simply enjoy the gift of love, and when he is gone, he can leave all his wealth with Panam and the Aldecaldos, really changing their lives, cause in my gameplays, I usually manage to transform V into a multi-millionaire, on top of all the chrome, cars and appartments he owns. Sell all that shit and he'd be richer beyond any wildest dreams xD. Could even have a kid with Panam and leave the rest to her. His legend status would be his forever and he'd also manage to not waste anything. Imo, that sounds like the best outcome for a lowlife killer like V. That sounds like the true second chance, even if it is short lived. I mean, what's the point of giving all of that up so that you can just start again? You made it, the price was just most of your life was cut short. In the second chance Reed offers, you could stand to gain this in time as well, but you're losing the legend status. So, just to stay true to V's character, Panam's ending sounds the best.
ОтветитьNusa saw Vs potential and nerfed it seeing he could be a asset just not as capable as he is cuz then they’d be a choom outta luck if he pulled a songbird against them regardless of who you chose V defeated an elite Blackwall capable netrunner on one scale, on the other scale a more elite and experienced agent who should easily top V given his years of experience and combat training..a guy/woman from the Corpo world, Nomad world, Street kid world, with only weeks of edgerunning and cyberware upgrades ntm weeks of experience and that’s canon cyberpunk took place within like two weeks, did all this, if I was the Nusa I’d nerf a potential candidate if not V then capable as V aswell…but we all know in the end the real reason is that to cdpr there is no happy ending..
Ответитьholy cope video
ОтветитьDont fear the reaper - my canon event.
ОтветитьThis ending would have been perfection if when the camera panned back from the city crowd, it instead went upward towards the sky and Rage Against the Machine starts playing and we see V flying past camera. Yes, the Matrix ending. I half expected that to happen for some reason, something about the camera backing away as V becomes an npc, fading into obscurity. Maybe it's the Keanu Reeves thing. Maybe it's that I half expected CDPR to try to mess with us like, yea, you thought V was a normal pos now but nope, this mofo became Neo and we ain't explainin' shit yo. I would have loved it. It would have become my headcanon ending.
ОтветитьTip of the hat at the Metroid Dread music.
ОтветитьIt’s not fair that you played one version of Johnny’s reaction to V sacrificing his life. In the other version, Johnny’s more at peace with it, and I would dare say, even take credit and considered this his sacrifice to V. He’s making it HIS choice, not V.
Therefore, the way I see it, the second life we’re actually sacrificing is Reed. Just like So Mi, we’re essentially putting Reed in a living death fate. Now he’s stuck on the desk job with the shadow of his regrets weighting him down (heh, get it?), when compared to the alternative where he’s no longer with the FIA/Langley, broken free from his view about the NUSA, and seek out a new life.
Those two are the lives we are gambling with for a cure. Johnny is just a reflection of who V is, either a narcissist man without sympathy for others, or a genuine person who had to make tough choices but will make peace with it in time.
Never agreed with any of the choices that game forced me to choose. I guess I don't belong in NC
ОтветитьIn my head canon she (my V) will go find misty in Poland and relax in the wilderness in a tranquil forest with a wonderful friend. Just finally able to relax.
Ответить
