Also fits Abrahamic religions: Dominions are angels of regions and spaces and things, with some fallen like any other angels, malevolent, but not embodied in a way we are familiar with
Ответить>western religion bad
ОтветитьI think the US could use a radish festival like they have in Japan. As a celebration of fertility they carve gigant penises out of radishes and parade them around the town and have like penis shaped Snacks and stuff
ОтветитьThat room is crazy
ОтветитьI think we should call the default religious belief that people converge on the "Lil Guy Believers"
ОтветитьIs cryptozoology more like sociology or zoology? Like is it the study of the creatures or the study of the phenomenon of the belief in these creatures?
ОтветитьThe Flatwoods monster also appears in a manga called Dandadan
Ответить“American Shinto” sounds like a good album name
ОтветитьAre you just the human form of a fart?
ОтветитьI mean this entire thing reminds me of when I compared americas "fearsome critters" to japans yokai. they have a lot of similarities.
so its interesting that you brought that up.
the largest of which is that they are often used to identify and explain unknown or mysterious things. though there is quite a difference.
though shinto and cryptids is not something I had connected.
American folklore is wiled. very wild and a lot more varied than people would thinks.
American has a lot of culture and history framed into a short time. America has so many small towns. that have been brought over from Europe.
Its always interesting as an european to look and compare folklore I grew up with that has been around for houndred of years and just see all the similiarities between ours and other places and its just cool i gueess
Ответитьreal Dimo Higgins vibes here...
p.s. jokes aside, great video! good luck with everything.
Jacob there is cryptozoology outside USA too.
ОтветитьAs a Pagan stuck in america, I have been jealous of Japan's Shinto as an expression of animism still being "mainstream" for as long as since I found out about it.
It would certainly have given me something to like about in the city I grew up in if we had some interesting mythos and custom festivals.
(Note that while we do have a relatively high native american population where I live, a lot of their traditions and festivals are only for the people in the tribe.
I really enjoyed how comprehensive this video was, great work Jacob!
ОтветитьHonestly moth man’s viability as a “cryptid” varies depending on which eye witness accounts you use. Because most of the ones I hear about are pretty grounded and just sound like a giant misidentified bird or a bird that’s been heavily dramatized. Do I believe it’s real no. But I do believe there is a real world animal that is well known that was just hard to identify during the night.
Ответитьdude you're a goofy
ОтветитьGreat vid. A lot of cool info. New sub. Thanks!
Ответитьi actually prefer the dog version of the chupacabra. if it was real, it could be petted
Ответитьtraditional european pagan traditions and folklore has similar ideas too. and theres also been a rise in paganism.
ОтветитьYou nailed exactly what I like about the paranormal community. Very few of these creatures are believable in terms of actual existence. I find the people who believe in these beings to be very fascinating, though. Betty and Barney Hill, Ed and Lorraine Warren, John Keel, Charles Fort, these people are as interesting as the subjects they've spent their lives chasing (in good and bad ways). So are the countless people who aren't famous.
Ответитьthis video needs way more polish you kinda suck here lol
ОтветитьI know Shinto is real, and Cryptozoology as a Science attempts to find real evidence for their beliefs, which automatically makes it more legitimate than every Evangelist Sect who fabricates the Bible.
ОтветитьStoked to see you venture more out of gaming. Great video, pal
ОтветитьGod I would love watching a video about the chupacabra or skinwalkers or any other cryptids from you
ОтветитьEditing Jacob is a cryptid.
Ответитьwatched this around midnight on a wednesday, and it rolled by right as you were talking about it being the most liminal day. just one of those moments, yknow
also, highly recommend a book called High Weirdness by Erik Davis for anyone who enjoyed this discussion
I say cryptid are just animal that scienice has yet to find. well the other thing are ether alien or supernatural.
ОтветитьAll of this also connects with a theory (from which I forgot it's origin) that is about some kind of „consensus“, with that I mean a literal unconscious human hivemind, meaning that we all have some kind of psychic connection to eachother and that unconscious anomalies can occur. What I mean with this, is that many of this strange occurrences may be a product of the power of the human mind, or maybe even the animal mind in itself, the mind of the world or what many call „god“, which leads to the unconfirmed fact that there may be a god or gods, but we created it/them by accident and maybe many of this entities too...
But it's all a theory, a game theory.
Love these videos (and the game reviews)! Keep up the good work.
ОтветитьYou're kind is just an offshoot of furries.
ОтветитьJust passing off Sasquatch as a great ape is very dismissive.
ОтветитьThis video made me have a very cool revelation about Pokémon.
Jacob said Sableye is based on a Kentucky Goblin and was introduced as a version exclusive Pokémon in generation 3, with its counterpart being Mawile. Mawile's design is based on a Yokai called Futakuchi-Onna; a spirit that looks like a woman, but has a second monstrous mouth on the back of its head.
The best part is they're found in the exact same cave, so there's no way this was a coincidence on the developer's part. The only difference is that one is found only in Ruby version, while the other is in Sapphire.
yeah
ОтветитьNitpick: Tsukuyomi is a dude.
ОтветитьHad me at the sound a Reiner beer makes opening next to a campfire ❤
ОтветитьHey, jacob. Love your vids. I'm not sure if you'll ever read this but you should try out Forbidden Siren somedays. It tick all the check boxes that you often talked about. From aliens to japanese folk-lore. It's a game made by the creator of the first Silent Hill.
Ответитьwhen can we expect the next upload? i've missed your calming voice and uneasy mind <3
ОтветитьI just love the witness accounts, Bigfoot n UFOs especially, love it, the fact the American government is tippin it’s toe in the latter once again is nice
ОтветитьDon't you talk about my Frog-Monkey son like that.
ОтветитьJacob: There's no way this is real, we don't have any lizard men walking around.
Walking Around: Mark Zuckerberg, Todd Howard, Andrew Wilson, etc.
Heya , just wanted to tell you it's not Torri it's Torii spoken like "to" "ree"
well the 'r' is different but there is no inbetween 'L' and 'R' in english so it's hard to communicate
A quick skim of the comment section didn't show this correction and the rest of your video seems like it is well researched and tries to convey information so I thought having misinformation even if minor in there is something you would want to know about
I just had an epiphany this morning that Jacob has the same charisma as Jenny Nicholson. Hence why they both talk about topics I truly never cared about before but I still find myself glued to their words.
ОтветитьSchrodinger's Cryptids.. Yes
Ответитьlemme save you 30 minutes
No, it isn't
As a pagan i approve, i often interpret these little weirdos as nature spirits not always.
