L in movie has more personality rather than anime / manga. On that movie he can make Soichiro believe his son is Kira.. his word is more deep than the anime.. so people tend to believe him

I always thought that L could have made a deal with Rem to give Misa a life sentence instead of execution, in exchange for ratting out Light.

L could have faked his death and Light never would have known. Light never found out his name, either.

L might have kept Light in the investigation and made him his successor because he was the only one suited for it or because that would leave Light in a vulnerable spot to be caught by someone else, it was a last challenge for Light, and to make things difficult for him, but never was a final move from him, or final play, it was just a burden he left for Light. Still, L was worth being called Kiras Nemesis and his main adversary, unlike Near that was basically playing among us and blindly trusting that if L was sussing on Light then he was completely right, ended up being lucky because Mikami is a good for nothing compulsive idiot that didn't know he should have stood still and wait, since Light had EVERYTHING PLANNED AHEAD, and was gona win, but oh well, Mikami... There's nothing more infuriating than realizing the task force could have caught light much sooner had they just went ahead with L's plan to test the notebook, The plan which was already set into motion, all they needed to do was send the notebook. But because the Task Force were a bunch of self righteous pricks with no vision of the big picture, Light was able to continue as Kira for years after L's death.

After some reasearch look what i found the answer of the question what if you change your name in death note anime : This is one of those times where the line gets really blurry and the creators should really give us some more context.

But according to the Rules, the name you see with the Shinigami eyes is the name needed to kill that person. Obviously, the Note has existed LONG before any established laws regarding names were ever put into place, so it’s unlikely that legality has anything to do with it.

Let’s use some famous people as an example.

Bob Dylan legally changed his name in 1962; his birth name was Robert Allen Zimmerman. He sincerely believe that he was born with the wrong name.

George Michael, far as I can tell, never legally changed his name. His legal name remained Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou for life. I don’t imagine he ever denied his real name, but seeing how Greek the name is, it makes sense that he’d pick something English because it’s easier to pronounce.

John Michael Osbourne simply goes by the nickname Ozzy, which he has carried since elementary school. It’s a name that others picked for him that he adopted.

Honestly, I agree with Vivian Mandelbrot. The name required to kill you is the name that you identify with. Bob Dylan could go through all the paperwork he wants, but if he doesn’t believe that he is “Bob Dylan,” then the Death Note owner would have to write “Robert Zimmerman” to kill him. If George Michael wholeheartedly identified with the name “George Michael,” then the owner could forget trying to spell his birth name, even if it’s on his passport.

Death note theory: light is schizophrenic and the shinigami aren't real and he was going around the world and killing people and the reason he had a case and wasn't just arrested because somebody saw him is because he went tobi mode and wore a mask and gloves but instead of putting on a voice he stayed silent and his meeting with near was him telling mikami/sir delete to go in with his pocket knife and he got caught saying he was god and didn't charge at light yada yada yada the rest plays out normally except at the end he doesn't get written in ryuks notebook instead he commits suicide with his signature pocket knife

Yes Light , Near and Mellow are smart, but the thing is Light is just much more cunning, with reasources such as idk...A NOTEBOOK OF DEATH AND A SHINIGAMI OR 2 ON HIS SIDE. Its shouldve been badly outmatched, but his cocky attitude made him do mistakes which a smart person would never do.

Near is just much more efficient than L and IS NOT INTERESTED IN A GAME OF CHESS. Like Near is the kind of guy who will choose the easiest path, i.e, who cares about having evidence to proceed, he will just make a good guess (that too L laid the groundwork) and follow it.
