#LetsCookwithSuma Rava Idli is an Indian recipe which is a simple tea time snack and a healthy breakfast recipe. This is my mom's recipe. RECIPE:
Ingredients:
1cup- Urad Dal/Black Gram.
3cup- Idli Rava / Semolina/ Suji coarse.
3tsp- Poha/ Flattened Rice or
3tsp- Cooked Rice.
Refined oil.
Salt.
Recipe:
Step-1:
-Firstly, in a vessel take 1cup- Urad Dal/ Black Gram, wash it with water & let it soak for 5-6hours.
-In another vessel take 3cup- Idli Rava / Semolina, wash it with water & let it soak for 3hours.
Step-2:
- Drain the water from the Urad dal/ Black Gram & put it into the blender. To this add little water & make it a smooth batter.
- Now to this add 3tsp- Poha/Flattened Rice or 3tsp- Cooked Rice & grind it again to a fine paste.
-Pour it into the big vessel & to this add drained Idli rava/ semolina & mix it well.
- Finally, the mixture is left to ferment overnight during which its volume will be more than double.
Step-3:
-Add salt to the fermented batter & stair the batter gently.
-Grease the moulds with oil & put batter in the moulds.
- Add 1 full glass water to the steamer & place the moulds one by one into the steamer
-Cook it for 10-15minutes on high flame.
-Pierce the knife or tooth pick into the Idli to check whether Idli is cooked or not, if it comes clean then is ready to serve.
- Serve hot& steaming Idli with Sambar or Chutney.
