I do have a couple of comments. 1st, I've been informed by my GF who works doing documents and projects concerning real-estate, that this is happening because of the abuse from mostly Chinese folks doing businesses etc.

2nd, my other comment would be that usually with these kinds if things there will be an expected "quota" percentage. If that doesn't show over time,, of course this puts pressure to wash folks out to fill that quota deserving or otherwise. 😮

I did my SRRV right away as soon as i could by meeting all the requirements my life here in the Philippines could not be easier. Any questions about the SRRV with the Philippine Retirement Authority do not hesitate to ask. I can even help you get it all done for only cost without a fee.❤

The Philippine government is wise to scrutinize non citizens entry request. The government is most likely wary of China and other countries.

Its good to see them start to enforce the rules, it will only get harder for those abusing the tourist rules. Shame with the new immigration policies coming that they didn’t consider a digital nomad visa, allot of economic benefits allowing professionals who earn overseas, don’t take work away from locals and spend their $ in PH. Thailand / Vietnam have started to realise this and are ahead of the curve.

At least you will get a tourist extension in the Phils, try that in Australia, you've got no hope unless you claim to be a refugee or seeking 'protection '.

Alice Guo caused this scrutiny. They are more aware that Chinese are invading by bribery and deception. Now everyone must cooperate to help the Philippine government get rid of these bad actors. I don't like it either but this invasion is serious just like it is in the USA. I'm jealous that the US isn't doing the same on our southern border

Every country has the right to enforce, limit, change etc it's visa requirements. Take a deep breath. No matter the country you should always be polite at immigration, it's just common sense. We are guests. Next remember the changed geopolitical situation vis a vie Chinas aggression in the Philippines Sea. And the recent revelations about a certain Alice Guo, and supposed Chinese weapons caches being discovered, not sure of the truth to that last one. So it's my view that it's aimed at China/Chinese nationals. By also doing this to other foreign nationals they can avoid accusations from China of victimization etc. We all know how petulant China is and can be. So once again, take a deep breath, don't panic, follow the rules and be nice. It's their country, their rules. It's not our personal playground to do as we wish. Be a good guest.

Has anything changed with the Visa Run to leave the Philippines when approaching the 36 month stay limit? Are you allowed to leave and come back to the Philippines after a few days and start the 36 Month stay all over again? I understand that an Exit Visa is required when leaving the Philippines if you have stayed a certain amount of time (I think 6 months).

I'm too young to even qualify for an SRRV, so if I want to stay for a long time I either have to marry a local and get a 13a, or use the tourist extension. I'm 100% disabled vet, I just want to relax in a tropical/maritime environment where my comp pay goes farther, and I can use it as a launch pad to visit other places.

Best advice I ever got was to be a snowbird here. I live in Florida for 6 months and 5 months 3 weeks in Cebu. I use a visa agency, never been inside a BI office. 1 waiver, 2 extensions, I leave for Florida before I need an EEC. Not married, too young for an SSRV. I stay with my US expat uncle and his pinay wife in Montezarra subdivision, Guadeloupe, Cebu. No immigration issues what so ever.

They make the online system useless. As soon as you submit online it tells you to go to an immigration office for further checks.

I go there and they ask me absolutely nothing!!!!!

They're just trying to justify their jobs!

I have a feeling that the Philippines are testing the waters to see if they can scare expats that can afford getting the srrv visa or if the Philippines need to reduce the amount of money needed to deposit in order to get that longer term visa so that their banks and economy can improve further.
Anybody please let me know what your thoughts are about this?
