Revell: BMW i8 Part 7 Plamoz wheels

I am currently building this kit. I loved the idea that you used for the wheels. I’ve already sprayed the primer and silver. Was the black you used a Matt finish or satin? Thanks

But don't they have a different diameter than the plamoz wheels?

Why doesn't the silver come off too when you apply the thinner? I need to do this to my Plamoz ZR1 rims.

Just picked up my own copy of the i8 yesterday, and discovered your series last night. What a sweet looking car and model. I did notice that the kit tires are directional... meaning that there is a groove on one side of the tire that is supposed to fit flush with the flange on the wheel. When trimmed and cleaned up, it doesn't look too bad, but as you say, the car deserves better. Looking forward to seeing this kit come together otherwise.

And nice technique on the diamond cut. I will give that a try.
I would love to get a pair of these because your videos of the i8 made me ordering the kit.

I also have a question because I am newer to scalemodeling cars:
When you airbrush your cars, I see you applying more and more layers of colour at a point I would say that it is done.
Dou you have many uneven spots to improve or is the colour often not covering well?

Great video as always. I'll be different and  use the wheels on a slammed down truck. Plus shipping the wheels to Winnipeg would be easier for you than my usual paint orders.

I am a relative newbie and have yet to be able to use ANY after market parts, I have developed an almost pathological addiction to this hobby, I am not trying to pull the cripple card but I have muscular dystrophy (i guess i just played the cripple card), but it will never stop me from doing what I love and keep putting one peice of styrene in front of the other, hehe, but the problem is on full time disability I can barely afford kits, I would love to have some of those tires and would put them to good use. Those Plamoz wheels look fantastic! It'd be great to build a kit with those aftermarket rims.

Nice I like the detailing to both wheels it really enhanced the look but your right the resin wheels are so much better looking for this build .

Great video as always Tom! When i saw these Plamoz wheels i instantly knew that i want them for my i8 build. They look so much better than the wheels that Revell has supplied with the i8 and they certainly will completely change the look of the model!

Awesome job man. I would love a set of these wheels. I just ordered this kit too. You are the reason I got back into modeling again especially since I didn't really know what I was doing when I was like 12. Using a brush to paint everything...even the body. Lol.I even gave you credit on a car that I posted on modelcarsmag that you are the one who got me back into it about a month ago. It was my first car getting back into it and have been knocking out a few model cars out since. And since doing that kit, I learned so much from watching your videos and have used a ton of your tips. Thanks for everything you do. That is why I was the guy asking for more videos and I know you have a job and have to have a social life outside of work so I understand. Keep up the great work.

Those wheels look amazing on the i8. Would be a good reason to run out and pick up a lot to build to such great quality as those wheels.
