Why would you want a fake photo on your wall? Edits are fine but a totally fake image!!! Not something I would be proud of!

Thanks Paul. This was a very informative post. The only thing is, I don't agree with is the word fake. I realize what you mean, but that is the thing about fine art. Your goal is to create the image that you want to share with the viewer. Otherwise it isn't fine art, it is photojournalism. Anyway, l love the picture, and appreciate you sharing how you created it.

I made a very similar image of Ashness bridge jetty last year. I used darktable which has a haze removal module and you can create a nice mist effect by using different blend modes. It made a nice minimalist image without needing to do complex editing of the sky and just using a graduated density mask.. 😀
