I have the Wampler Pantheon and I think it's great. Lots of note separation. Only use it in low gain mode. I did buy an original Marshall Bluesbreaker in 1990 or whenever they first came out but gave it to to a friend who was looking for one as he had seen John Mayer using one.

The Prince of Miesnieks is only ten dollars cheaper than the old dual channel butcher, looking at Reverb anyway. But it is in the shop right now. Is there a waiting list? 🤔

There are hundreds of Alternative music bands that play along the U.S. West coast. The amps and equipment they use is either vintage American or very small makers of pedals or guitars or amps. They are sold by word of mouth. These bands barely make enough money to live but when word goes out of something very special they all buy. Such is the case with the Sarno Music Solutions Earth Drive. The pedal seamlessly blends into an amps sound. The only way to truly tell it is on is to turn it off. I have several very expensive OD's from all over the world. Each with a reputation of being the ultimate transparent drive. Compared to the Sarno they ALL sound noticeably artificial.The only one of note that I know uses one and has retired all his OD's but this one is Nels Cline. Reviewer Curtis Kent said it best. he said if he was really impressed by an OD he used at home for weeks before it earned a spot on his board. On trying the Sarno just once he put it on his board and to the gig that same night. He was even more enthusiastic the next day. at $170.00 USD it is reasonably priced. Unless I need a medium or high gain sound I leave the Sarno on as my clean sound. I have 13 guitars 9 are exceptional to me. I am the most impressed using it with my semi it makes it sound like a full sized Jazz guitar.The first time I tried it I played for hours and was truly shocked that the time had passed.

KOT waiting list is a lot longer than 2 years. I'm probably 3-5 months off topping the list and joined over 3 years ago. Fortunately I already have one so there's no rush but it's a long wait if you've just joined. I also wonder how much longer they will make them. I wouldn't be surprised if in a year or two they just stop.

I have the v2 and v4 KoT and I can say along with a single delay pedal and a tremolo they will be my go-to board forever.

I would say to anyone who would like a king of tone get on the waiting list. It is not an expensive pedal when you look at the boutique market, for what it is, and you will not be disappointed. While you wait for your nake to get to the top of the list go and get yourself a 2nd hand blues driver, sd1 or even a ds1 with gain rolled back. The time will fly and you'll have the genuine article in no time and not for the crazy extorted reverb and ebay prices.

I heard the snouse black box is very similar. The one with 2 stages is around $230 on Reverb. I know everyone has different amounts of money. It’s not a bad price if you know it’s exactly what you’re looking for. I know The pedal show did an episode on KOT style pedals. There might be some less expensive options for you to try that you don’t have to be on a waiting list & that are easy to sell if you don’t like them

To be honest, there are a lot of good pedals but KOT usual wins and always claws his way to the top.
