I was going to ask how the heck you got that fish on to the pier but from the comments I have read you didn't?!! That to me is a trashy thing to do if you had any doubt that you wouldn't be able to land it, you shouldn't have even gone after it! Stupid click bait. Not only is it not the "Worlds largest grouper" but its not even largest type of grouper.
That aside, I'm sure it's a thrill for you but its a protected species for a reason. You deliberately targeted a fish you knew you couldnt keep and did it without a release weight. Not only did you put it in danger of shark predation but you've risked blowing the swim bladder, again putting it at risk of death. This isnt any better than trophy fishing or hunting.
As a licensed fisher, i can understand the thrill of a hard catch but as an ocean environmentalist, I am saddened, but not shocked, by the lack of concern you show.

It's illegal to keep this species of Grouper. Catching them for fun, is doing damage to the fish . Stressing and exhausting them , in the long-term , can kill them . They are feeding when you hook them...just think how y'all are interfering with nature !!!. 😮
